A little reflective thought—
Hi i am Jason, a chef for 10 years currently running hawker eats food truck. What I can say is the style of cooking is totally different for a restaurant and a food truck.
We started Hawker Eats in June 2023 with nothing but an idea, a truck, and the willingness to show up — again and again, not knowing what to expect from day to day.
What people don’t see is what this journey really takes.
The long nights. The quiet drives home after a tough trade. The moments where you question if it’s all worth it.
Running a food truck isn’t just about serving food.
It’s about resilience, It’s about learning fast, adapting faster, and showing up better every single time even when the last service didn’t go your way.
There were days we went home exhausted and unsatisfied.
But those were the days that taught us the most.
Every mistake became a lesson.
Every challenge became part of the process.
And slowly, trade by trade, we grew — not just as a business, but as people.
And somewhere along the way… it stopped being just a hustle.
It became something we’re truly proud of.
I can honestly say — I’ve loved this journey and I would do it all over again if you ask me to choose once more.
The highs, the lows, and everything in between, the friends you make along the way, the customers that gave you compliment or even the complaints that make you learn.
Because this is only the beginning.
Now, we’re stepping into the next phase of Hawker Eats — Stay tuned!
