🔥 Iskender Kebab: A Dish Fit for Sultans! 🔥

Did you know that Iskender Kebab has been delighting taste buds since the 1860s? This legendary dish was created by İskender Efendi in Bursa, Turkey, during the Ottoman era. Before his innovation, kebabs were usually cooked horizontally, but İskender revolutionized the method by roasting the meat vertically on a rotating spit, allowing the fat to drip down and enhance the flavors!

Originally served to Ottoman elites, this dish quickly became a staple of Turkish cuisine. Today, it remains a beloved specialty, known for its buttery richness, tangy tomato sauce, and melt-in-your-mouth doner over fluffy pide bread.

Fun fact: The Efendi family still runs a restaurant in Bursa, serving Iskender Kebab the traditional way—just as it was 150 years ago!
