It felt like stepping into a time machine.
Living in Australia, I’ve spent a long time searching for that familiar comfort.
Was it just the warm bowl of soup I used to share with my mother, or the memories made over it?
I still remember that perfect spoonful of rice, topped with a tender slice of meat and kimchi.
I remember the restaurant owner telling us to eat as much rice and banchan as we wanted.
That generous, unpretentious spirit is the true essence of Korean dining.
We created this space to bring that exact same warmth and comfort to Newcastle.

마치 타임머신을 탄 것 같은 기분이었습니다.
호주에 살면서, 저는 그 ‘익숙한 편안함’을 참 오랫동안 찾아 헤맸습니다.
그건 그저 어머니와 마주 앉아 먹던 따뜻한 국밥 한 그릇이었을까요, 아니면 그 식탁 위로 오가던 추억이었을까요.
부드러운 고기 한 점과 김치가 올려진, 그 완벽했던 밥 한 숟가락이 아직도 생생합니다.
밥이든 반찬이든 양껏 마음대로 먹으라던 식당 주인의 넉넉한 인심도요.
꾸밈없이 내어주는 그 소탈하고 따뜻한 정이야말로, 한국 식당이 가진 진짜 본질입니다.
우리가 뉴캐슬에 이 공간을 만든 이유도, 그날의 따뜻함과 편안함을 있는 그대로 이곳에 가져오고 싶었기 때문입니다.
