Once upon a time, we were just a small little family walking around Agfest together, dreaming out loud…
“How amazing would it be if one day Pig & Chook could be part of this iconic Tasmanian event?” 🧡
And this year… somehow, that little dream came true.
Last weekend was our very first Agfest.
Our little orange food truck was really there.
Right in the middle of one of Tasmania’s biggest and most iconic events. 🥹
But honestly… only a few days before the event, everything almost fell apart.
Something happened that nearly stopped us from getting there at all.
We tried everything we could ourselves. We problem-solved, stressed, panicked, barely slept… but nothing seemed to go our way. It felt dark, heavy, and overwhelming. Like we were standing there thinking… “What do we even do now?”
And then… out of nowhere… came the light.
The kind of light called friendship. 🤍
The moment we opened our mouths to ask for help, people around us didn’t hesitate for even one second.
“I’m taking my car in on Tuesday anyway just let me know, I’m free on Wednesday and I’ll tow it for you.”
“I’ll come pick you up at 8:30am.”
“You will definitely get your food van to Agfest Wednesday.”
“If I get stuck, I’ll find someone to help you. It’s ok, we’ll get you sorted out.”
“If my car could tow it, I’d tow you there myself.”
Every single message.
Every single word.
Every act of kindness.
You have no idea how much it meant to us.
At a time where everything felt impossible, you reminded us that we were never alone. And honestly… we will never forget that.
And to everyone who reached out wanting to help — thank you🙏🏻.
We could genuinely feel that you truly wanted to help us, and we also know how busy your own lives are too. So please, don’t worry if things didn’t work out perfectly. Just knowing you cared meant more than enough to us already 🧡
We may not be able to repay every kindness straight away, but we promise we’ll carry it in our hearts forever and pass it forward whenever we can.
And somehow… thanks to all of you…
Pig & Chook made it to Agfest.
