POST MORTEM OF EASTER FRIDAY - APOLOGIES TO THOSE WHO GOT THE SHORT END OF THE STICK
Hi Saltys Lovers. Yes, another crazy Easter Friday! To those who waited too long for their order, didn't get their order or got the wrong order - deepest, deepest apologies! If you were impacted, please speak to me so I can have the opportunity to make it right. That would be much appreciated. Everyone could see the staff were working hard, under enormous pressure, giving it their best shot. The volume of orders was triple that of last year. We we OK until 6-6.30pm then it spun out of control. We had to take the phones off the hook and close online ordering, just so we could address the high volume of orders we already had - just madness! Over the years we've tried different ways to manage Easter Friday - last year we restricted the menu available, this year we had more fryers, more staff, improved procedures, high volume pre prep, but still didn't get to keep everyone happy. It was very stressful. Next year we are thinking to have all orders in by the pre Monday and restrict how many orders we can accept - this might at least assure that orders can be completed and on time. It will mean customers missing out but its just too much for staff and customers to experience as it is now. We closed early last night - we were totally exhausted. Thank you to those who gave us good consideration at the time and those who gave positive feedback on their orders. Most of all, thank you to the staff who gave it their all and did an amazing job! It was an impressive effort. I hope those customers who had a less than better experience will contact me and allow us to address their order. Thanks for your ongoing support Saltys Lovers.
