We thought we had made a mistake…
We started offering the Chicken style seitan in retail vacuum-sealed bags so you could also enjoy them at home, at work… the way you want it, really…
But we also realised something; the price was lower to the Chicken-style mock meat we also sold as retail in the fridge from a big brand…
So we had to check, because as a small business in Perth, W.A, we’re mostly used to being pricier than a mass-made product. We’re at peace we it, because we know the truth of the cost of hard work and handmade products, and the health costs to it too…
Then, I called Cedric, “How long do you actually take to make it?’, “Are we actually producing this quantity?” …
I checked the numbers, everything added up..
Mind you, we could actually make some extra margin out of it… But we want people to try it, and have margin to maintain a reasonable price even if we get ingredients and wages increase…
It turned out it wasn’t a mistake… Our handmade chicken style seitan has a lower price than the mass-made we also sell at the shop.
No middle-man, no freight fees, made locally, with West Australian-grown gluten flour, and plenty of nice herbs and flavour!
This way, you truly support the local economy, you allow us to create employment (and your wallet is happy!)
And, we let the images speak for themselves… The texture and tastes can’t even be compared!
It wasn’t a mistake after all…
