What's for dinner? 🥗
Let's be real for a second. It is Friday night. You are tired. You open the fridge and stare at that bag of supermarket salad mix that is slowly turning into a science project. You deserve better than a sad-lad dinner.
Skip the wilted greens and the mountain of dishes. We have been busy in the kitchen so you do not have to be. This week's lineup is pure comfort in a container.
Homemade Chicken Schnitzel. Golden, hand-crumbed, and smothered in mushroom sauce. It is basically a hug on a plate.
Marry Me Chickpeas. Creamy, spicy, and so good you might actually consider a long-term commitment.
Hug in a Mug Soup. Sweet potato silky goodness for those chilly evenings.
Grandma's Apple Pie. Because custard is a food group and we do not skimp on it.
The Game Plan.
1. Bundle and Save. Grab the Sunny Dinner Pack for $40 (Main + Soup + Dessert) and consider your Friday officially sorted.
2. Order Deadline. Get your preorders in by Tuesday night. Once the clock strikes midnight, the kitchen doors virtually close.
3. Pickup. Swing by the cafe this Friday between 5:30 am and 12:00 pm to grab your goods.
Dinner is sorted. No dishes. No regrets. See you at the window.

Good Morning 4017 🌸

Yesterday was a total whirlwind. You guys kept us so busy we literally ran out of food. If we were a little quiet it is only because we were sprinting to keep up with you all 🌸

But we are fully restocked and back in action. The cabinets are full the coffee is flowing and the vibes are high at our little pink hole in the wall 🌸

Miss Sky is here right now looking cute and ready to pour your favorite brew. Miss Abby will be jumping in a little later to keep the morning magic going. And as for me you might even catch me somewhere hiding in the fridge lol 🌸

Come swing by the window say hi to the team and grab a treat before the rush hits again 🌸

From this Wednesday, you’ll find us over at Sunny Street ☀️
Same faces, same good coffee… plus something new we’re really excited about.

We’re now doing grab-and-go dinners you can pick up in the morning while you grab your coffee or brekkie — so there’s no last-minute scramble later.

Hello 2026 👋 Welcome to Sunny Street

If you’re new here — hi, I’m Mel.
If you’ve been around a while… you probably already know most of this. After all, this is 4017 😉

A few things about me you may (or may not) know:

I love to cook. Anything. Everything.
My personal page regularly annoys my friends because I post food when they’re hungry (sorry… but also, not sorry).

I’ve got three adult kids and they’re my absolute everything.
Yes, they love me.
Yes, they really love the free coffee they now get every single day ☕️

I’ve been married for 27 years this year to my old fella, Troy Boy — my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the man who drives me slightly mad but who I couldn’t do any of this without.
(That’s us in the photo — young, loud, having a laugh… pretty much still the same 😄)

So why did I buy a café?

Honestly? Why not.
Life’s short. I love food. I love people. I love my customers and my staff. And I’m so bloody glad I took the leap.

Sunny Street exists to help people eat real food, feel welcome, and leave a little happier than when they walked in.

I can’t wait to see all your smiling faces in 2026 — old friends and brand-new ones alike.

Here’s to good food, good people, and another year of getting our yum on ☀️

Something Delicious Just for You 🌞🎄
It’s been a while since our first kitchen Sunny Street days, but I haven’t forgotten those shared smiles and plates of food that started it all - it is still at the heart of my "big plan".
This Christmas, I’m back in the kitchen but at the cafe— and I’ve poured all that warmth and flavour into a festive menu I’d love to share with you.
From classics like our crispy Rosemary Roast Potatoes and rich Christmas Lasagna to new favourites like Sunnymisu and Raw Spiced Rum Balls, everything is made with love, sunshine, and a little Christmas magic.
If you’re planning a gathering (big or small), I’d be so honoured to cook for your table again.

“Turns out even the cafe needs a little sick day love. Our barista is under the weather, so we’re taking a tiny pause today.

But don’t worry — we’ll be back tomorrow, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, and ready to serve your favourite grab-and-go goodies, sensational, and cheeky treats.

Looks like I’ll catch up on tiramisu orders then……since I can’t make coffee like the girls can! lol. I’ll turn this into a positive.
