With our opening not far away, we wish everyone

🍁 Happy Canada Day 🍁

We love this country — the wild coastlines, the big skies, the communities where people show up for each other. Canada is made up of so many cultures, languages, and histories, and that's something worth celebrating.
Salt Lick BBQ sits on the unceded traditional territory of the Wei Wai K*m and We Wai Kai Nations — the keepers of this land long before us. We're grateful to be here, and we celebrate today with that in mind.

It's always been the plan.
We moved to Campbell River to build a life here - to put down roots in a place we love. And now the business gets to do the same.
Salt Lick started as a dream, became a food truck, and is now becoming something permanent. Not because it was the easy path, but because feeding people is what we're meant to do. It's that simple.
We're home. And we can't wait to feed you.

This is what it looks like when you're all in.
Dustin hauling the smoker home from the Interior, late in the evening after a long day on the road. The truck waiting by the water. Six years of early mornings and long hot days got us here — and we're just getting started.

This is Dustin. He's been building our dream with his own two hands - the same hands that have run our smoker for six years.
We started Salt Lick BBQ out of a food truck in the North Thompson because we believed our community deserved real, honest BBQ. Now we've followed that belief all the way to our new home in Campbell River - pouring all our passion into a permanent home for the food we love to make.
This place is being built by us, for you. We can't wait to have you in.

The dining room is taking shape.
Dustin framed the new wall and with some help from a good friend the drywalling got done in record time as well. The kitchen goes behind that new wall. The dining room is in front of it.
It's coming together — one stud at a time.
