Woodworks by Mary Barrie, Ontario -- Home of the original hand-carved Log Santas, Elves, Gnomes and more! Woodworks by Mary is owned by Mary Flynn and Paul Harber. Ouch!

The business is located in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Mary works closely with her husband, Paul, and she's always been more comfortable in the workshop than in the kitchen. Interesting Fact:
Mary retired from teaching in 2000 escaping with most of her sanity still in tact. (Jury might still be out on that one!)

Mary's been working with wood for more than 40 years. Mary and Paul are the original cre

ators of the primitive LOG SANTAS and ELVES - created lovingly for more than 26 years years. We like to say we "gave birth to them." No two Santas, Elves, Gnomes or Buffalo Check Lumberjacks are the same -- ever! Logs are dried for 9 months or more and are taken out in early summer when the process begins. They start taking orders in September/October and sell out every year.
