Fundraiser for Lanark County Foodbank — The Hunger Stop Generous Helpings (formerly known as the Safari Dinner) started in the small town of Mississippi Mills, Ontario as a way to create community and put the FUN in Fundraising. This dinner was a staple of the community for many, many years. Please join us October 21, 2023 as be bring back this loved event! You will

dine with people in your community, make new friends, meet up with familiar faces. All while supporting The Hunger Stop-Lanark Food Bank. Details:
You prepare 1 portion of the meal, appetizer, main or dessert. You only serve 6 people including you and your 'date' (friend, spouse, neighbour, etc..) You and your date will spend 1 hour at each home location around Mississippi Mills
Here's the fun part-You don't know who you are dining with until you arrive! What it costs...
$30.00 per COUPLE to participate and all proceeds go to the Lanark County Food Bank - The Hunger STOP

Almonte has grown over the last few years, and so have the needs of the Lanark County Foodbank — The Hunger Stop, especially as we’ve seen food prices soar. Sounds like a perfect opportunity to reignite the Almonte Safari Dinner fundraiser. A safari dinner (or progressive dinner) takes the form of a dinner party in which each successive course is prepared and eaten at the residence of three different hosts, all within a ten-minute drive of the Almonte Old Town Hall, where one of the hosts is you! It is a sociable and fun way to raise money. Prepare to meet some neighbours sharing a nice meal while contributing to a very worthy cause. Stay tuned for more information, and in the meantime, save the date: Saturday, October 21.

We had a very successful Safari Dinner. 15 couples raised $835 for the Food Bank, Hunger Stop. thank you so much everyone. . Almonte Safari Dinner Fundraiser raises over $800 for the Hunger Stop, the Lanark County Foodbank.

What are the ingredients to a successful (fundraising) recipe?

For house to house grazing of amazing appetizers, followed by mouth-watering main dishes and finished with delightful deserts – all for a great cause: our local foodbank

Happily, mix comforting, known faces with new-found friends; fold in beautifully decorated tables, in and around Almonte; whisk together the cookbook quality presentations, blend in the sounds of laughter, with a dusting of lip smacking; puree until the kindness, generosity and willingness of all involved in this fundraising adventure gels to a warm, glowing epicurean delight. Heart Healthy in all ways!

Heartfelt thanks to Project Leader Denise Beaulne and Karen Gallagher for organizing a most fruitful evening of fifteen couples meandering door to door in Almonte for food, friendship, and a wonderful, worthwhile cause!
