Not everyone is your client… BUT THATS OK.
I can respect this persons concerns and understand where they are coming from without wavering on my policies and boundaries. The boundaries and policies I have in place for my business are there for a reason and I don’t budge on them just to get an order. However I can understand that not every potential client will agree with them and that’s okay! We can still be respectful of each other and our decisions. Will this person order from me in the future? Maybe, maybe not 🤷🏼♀️ but I do truly appreciate their kind words about my work.
The reason I don’t turn on my oven without payment in full is because I have been burned in the past. I’m not willing to do hours upon hours of work with the possibility that someone may not show up. Ingredients and supplies may have been covered but my time is not. And, more than ever now as a new mama, my time is extremely valuable to me. I understand potential clients may not be comfortable because “they don’t know me personally”, but respectfully I don’t know you personally either 🤷🏼♀️ and as a business with over 11k followers and positive reviews, if I weren’t to fulfill my end of the deal the client has a lot more avenues to seek compensation than I do if they ghost me after I’ve already completed hours of work. This is just why my policy exists, but again, I respect that not everyone will agree with it. And that’s okay. We can respectfully acknowledge that we aren’t a good match and move on! ❤️
