Stopped by MIK - Coffee & Art for a little patio coffee date on 17th Ave 💜☕.

I loved my Ube Latte, the ube flavor was present and satisfying. It was also very creamy! I also had a Coconut Mango muffin. It had mango in the middle and was delicious and not too sweet.

Last night I went to ELYM! Family Buffet a NE Calgary buffet. My friend Sarah, who's with me, recommended it and it was so good! Lots of options for all food groups (meat, carbs, veggies, desserts), clean, and it was being refilled quickly. Out of everything I tried, everything was delicious, minus only one or two items being just mid. I definitely recommend checking this spot out with your friends, family, or on a date night. They have different themes/prices on different days. I want to go back and try them!

I'm not sure, but I think it's either Filipino-owned or the chef is Filipino lol. They had pork adobo, pork belly, pancit, and a huge container of steamed rice, my Filipino radar was going off haha. Can anyone confirm?

Do you know how to remove shrimp p**p lines? Some people take a knife and cut down the back to get it out, but if you want to keep the shell nice and whole, this method is easy! This little "tutorial" will also save you time.

Tip: Always boil your shrimp with the shells on, especially for seafood boils. The shells pack a massive punch of flavor, which is why buying pre-peeled shrimp is a missed opportunity.

Also, never dump the shrimp cooking water down the drain. Save it as a rich, flavorful broth to elevate dishes like palabok or seafood-based sauces.

Finally went to Calgary Stampede on Thursday! We mainly went to watch the Calgary Surge play at the Saddledome! They won 🙌🏽🙌🏽.

This year I wasn't really feeling any of the concerts or foods, but I was excited to eat my faves!

My SIL wanted to try the Colossal Onion, which I've had before. It's good, but I think I prefer the plain one with just dip compared to the one with nacho cheese, the nacho cheese was a little much. I like the plain one more because it's just like eating a ton of onion rings lol.

Next, I wanted to have Onari Sushi. The giant one that was being promoted didn't seem worth the money, so I got the Seafood Lovers Set of 3 for $21. I liked these minus it being way too much rice. There was only a small layer of fish on top, which was delicious, but way too skimpy on the portion. I wouldn't go to this booth again because of that.

After, I got one of my usuals... The pickle pizza! If you like salty, briny flavors (ahem, dirty martini lovers), you'll like it. I love this combination of the pickles, cheese, and white sauce - worthy the $11!

Lastly, I wanted to end the night with the cheesecake taco. We looked EVERYWHERE for the booth, even following the map, and we could NOT find it. So sad, because it actually looked delicious!

That was my day at Stampede! Had a blast, but none of the "new" Midway foods looked good. Thankfully, the usuals were yummy! The only reason I didn't get my usual giant jalapeno and cheese corndog was because I ate a hotdog at the Saddledome! 😂

I was so excited to check out Brewkada Coffee Co. in downtown Edmonton! Mainly because of their very delicious looking menu of matchas and lattes. It's hard to find a delicious matcha, let alone with additional flavors added. Let me tell you...the three matchas I tried were divine.

🍵Firstly, my Ube Matcha: they GOT the ube flavor RIGHT 👏🏽👏🏽. It was there and you could TASTE it, it wasn't just purple foam like 97% of cafes. 15/10, I'll be back!

🍵Next, my mom's Taho Matcha. I really liked this one! It was like a classic matcha with a hint of additional sweetness from the taho flavor, as well as the texture of the small sago pearls. 10/10!

🍵Last matcha, the one I got by accident, the Banana Pudding Matcha. I'm not one to order banana anything, I love turon and banana bread, but I'm not a banana drink type of person. This matcha was actually very yummy. It had real bananas in it, as well as the little wafers. It was like a snack and a drink! Not something I'd get again, but still a 10/10.

☕Lastly, my dad's Brown Butter Toffee Latte. I actually didn't try it, but he said he really liked it! He said the coffee was strong and it was nice with the milk and sweet toffee flavor.

That's all! My new fave cafe in Edmonton!

I love me some Villa Madina and I finally went and tried their Shawarma Shakers! For only $5.99, I had to buy both chicken and beef. They're sadly done being available on June 30th, but I hope they bring them back. Like I said in the video: great taste, awesome portion size, love the protein, and enjoyed the convenience of a cup!

cheers to the weekend 🥂🙌🏽
