Hello My Freaky Darlings,
Last June we teased that something big was coming for BMKC Canada … and then things went quiet for a while.
What was supposed to be a relatively quick process turned into a year of red tape, construction delays, paperwork, and more hurdles than we could count. But through all of it, we kept pushing forward because building this the right way mattered.
Today, we’re incredibly proud to announce our new home and co-packing facility in Chesley, Ontario. Our facility is SFC (CFIA) Licensed and, as of last week, HACCP Certified — a huge milestone not only for BMKC Canada, but for what we hope to help build within our local food community.
This milestone represents something much bigger for our community and for food entrepreneurs across Grey-Bruce and beyond. Through our federally licensed co-packing facility, we’re able to help small businesses grow beyond church kitchens, shared spaces, and small-batch limitations, while helping farmers and local makers develop value-added products closer to home.
While our roots will always be local, we’re excited to support businesses across Ontario and Canada looking to grow alongside us.
A huge thank you to BT Builders for their incredible work, attention to detail, and dedication throughout this build — especially Bailey for his patience — along with Aaron Geiger of AG Plumbing and everyone else who helped bring this facility to life.
To Brandon at Brand Realty Group — you really are “A Damn Good Realtor.”
And to Rootham’s Gourmet Preserves — thank you for 11 years of processing, advice, guidance, encouragement, and friendship. Your support helped us get here.
To everyone who supported us through the quiet periods, checked in on us, shared our products, and believed in us along the way — thank you.
We’ve got a lot coming.
And trust us… we’re just getting started.
