This trip has been so inspiring in so many ways I didn’t anticipate.
The mountains, the stillness, the conversations, the time away from my usual routines. So many reminders of how much there is to appreciate.
I’ve worked really hard to build a life I love, and being here has given me even more appreciation for it.

Nothing stays the same. And instead of wishing I could hold on to any of this a little longer, I’m just really grateful I got to experience it.

What a beautiful thing to be fully aware of how good life is while you’re living it.

If you’ve ever been running late and abandoned the very things that would’ve helped you feel calm, this one’s for you.

I woke up late yesterday, on the one day I go into the office extra early (Tbh part of me still wants a little badge of honour for being diligent enough to show up early..)

My alarm is set for 5:25 AM. Kevin woke me at 5:58, with my entire morning routine still ahead of me.

And a few interesting things played out over the next 40 minutes.

I got out of bed, thanked Kevin, and felt remarkably calm. Almost like my body was overriding that once-familiar rushing sequence that used to happen when I woke up late. Total panic at the disco before.

And my non-negotiables remained.

Before, I would’ve cut anything that didn’t technically NEED to be done. Breakfast? Breathwork? Journalling? Apparently optional. Yet, curiously, almost miraculously, I could always find time to scroll Instagram.

Yesterday, I still breathed, journalled, and prayed. And because I’ve been using the Brick to block socials from 8 PM to 9 AM, scrolling wasn’t even an option. No negotiating.

I also picked my battles.

Of course, there was still a part of me concerned about being late, so I found ways to make better use of my time. I just became more discerning about where I was spending it.

Not everything deserves the same amount of my time, energy, or determination.

I also reminded myself nobody was going to be mad if I arrived later, or suddenly think I wasn’t capable. I work with people who aren't like that.

Isn’t it interesting how we create expectations for ourselves and behave as though everyone else is holding us to them?

And I'm an independent contractor. I made the fu***ng table. I get to decide when I show up.

After all that, I arrived at 7:33 AM, after a 45-minute drive.

But what felt good wasn’t getting there early. It was how differently I moved through the morning.

I used to let waking up late dictate the whole day. Yesterday, I didn’t abandon the things that matter to me just because I was behind schedule.

And that is pretty meaningful progress.

Sometimes the breakthrough is no longer negotiating with what matters to you. You just do it, and there is a certain kind of pride that follows… that particular feeling when you don’t have to jump through the hoops to get to do it. You don’t have to clear the static to move.

It is literally just something that you inherently do.

There is always something to be grateful for.

Even when life is handing you one fkn lesson after another.

Gratitude doesn’t mean we have to appreciate everything we’re going through. But we can simply recognizing that the hard thing isn’t the ONLY thing happening in our lives.

And the more we deliberately practise noticing and actually FEELING what’s good, the more we strengthen our ability to direct our attention instead of getting caught in the same familiar stress patterns.

Those little reps matter. That’s how we begin changing our relationship with our thoughts, our nervous system, and ultimately, our experience of life.

You don’t have to wait for life to get easier to experience more of its goodness.
