It's VERY important that you try the incredibly delicious smash burgers, hot dogs, and PICKLES from Dirty Water Dogs, located inside the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in the City of Wetaskiwin!! 🍔🌭🤤🙌🏻

The family-owned (two sons and father) eatery is sooooo good and was such a delightful surprise to experience after we explored the museum’s amazing machine (automobile, aviation, agriculture and industry) collection.

All staff we spoke with recommended the restaurant and we are so glad we didn’t skip it!

I am not being dramatic when I say that Dirty Water Dogs makes one of the best pickles I’ve ever had in my life. Also, the best smashburgers and, although we didn’t try it oops lol what their business is named after, “dirty water dogs” (hot dogs lol).

No museum admission required to dine here (but it makes sense to make a day of it at the museum).

The prices are also incredibly reasonable here. Burgers range from $8.50-$14 depending on the type. Hot dogs range from $5-$7.50. Make it a meal for a few more dollars. There’s also kids items. Ice cream. And those incredible pickles. Did I mention the pickles???? lol

In fact there’s a generous condiment station for your burgers and hot dogs and I won’t lie, I took about six ish strips of pickles just to eat on their own. 😅🥰

Truly what a wonderful meal! It was really nice to meet the brothers MacKenzie and Paxton during our visit too. Lovely hospitality.

Is the museum your excuse to stop into the restaurant or is the restaurant the reason to stop into the museum?! Either way, if you stop here, you win. lol. Plenty of free parking and seats at the restaurant too. And they encourage quick stops on your way home or out on whatever other Alberta road trips you may be planning!

My recent work visit to Wetaskiwin (located just an hour drive from Edmonton) was all about discovering unexpected experiences in one of Canada’s smallest and oldest cities and that theme really came through even through food stops! ☺️

If you are just driving by, stop in for the food, it's worth the detour.

There's no admission charged to eat at the restaurant.

Saturday and Sunday. 11 to 4

Starting May 13 we are open every day serving up great tasting food.
