We offer delivery through Skip the Dishes and Door Dash. We offer delivery through our website, Skip the Dishes and Door Dash! We had make our doughnuts fresh everyday and our flavours change daily! We make the fillings, glazes, jams and most toppings (like the brownies and crumbles) in the shop. We have at least 12 varieties available everyday, with flavours rotating regularly. Vegan options are

available each day, as well as one gluten friendly (we use wheat in our kitchen and the doughnuts are fried in the same oil as regular doughnuts, not for those with severe allergies!) version each day. CrOHnuts (a crossiant-doughnut hybrid) are available Thursday -Saturday. We use organic flour from Prairie Flour Mills in Elie, Manitoba. We use Notre Dame Creamery Butter from Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba. Our organic eggs come from Natures Farm in Steinbach, Manitoba. We use organic and fair-trade chocolate from La Siembra.

As a Q***r person, I mostly just live my life and not consider how my Q***rness might affect the World I navigate. In reality, being a visible and out Q***r makes a great impact, and I take the responsibility very seriously.

The best example is opening a business as a Q***r owner/operator. It did not occur to me that I was creating a safe/inclusive space for other Q***r folx to work at and patronize. Shortly before Broadway opened in 2016, a young person knocked on our door asking if we were hiring. They then explained that their current job was misgendering them regularly. We weren't hiring at that point, but once I realized we needed more, I contacted them and offered them a position.

We often hear from customers that are delighted with the inclusive feeling our little Q***r doughnut shop offers. Sometimes we are accused of "rainbow washing", which if you aren't familiar, is when corporations make their logo a rainbow and promote Pride to gain sales. We are a business, so we obviously are concerned with sales. But since we are Q***r owned and operated, we are rainbows and Q***rs first and foremost, all year 🏳️‍🌈.

We are looking forward to Pride this Sunday! As your friendly neighbourhood Q***r doughnut shop, we'll be open 8am-4pm for all your breakfast, lunch, iced drink and doughnut needs ❤.

🏳️‍🌈 I'm loving leaning into Pride 🏳️‍🌈

Today we share Alen's story (In case you missed my spiel yesterday, we are sharing pride stories from our staff, so here's Alen's story) :
"I went to my first pride parade in 2022 at age 25. I remember walking toward the legislature building and seeing more and more rainbows on others heading in the same direction. It felt surreal and wonderful to see so many q***r folks in one place, celebrating q***rness. I had been too shy to leave the house wearing my flag, but as soon as I met up with my friends, I pulled it out of my bag and wore it the rest of the day like a cape.
The next year I went to pride with my mom and sisters, and their support meant everything to me. I’m from a town in which the majority is Mennonite, and there was very little q***r representation growing up. I think I would have figured things out faster if I’d known there were other options. I didn’t even know the term nonbinary until my 20s, and once I heard it, it just made so much sense for me.
Transitioning has been a mix of gender euphoria and struggling to uproot the messages about gender that society has planted in me from the time I was a child. Thankfully I was working at a very q***r doughnut shop and that gave me a safe space to explore my identity surrounded by other members of the community.
I’m proud of the journey I’ve been on to discover my truth. It wasn’t easy, but like many before me, I am resilient.

🏳️‍🌈 Pride 🏳️‍🌈 !

It's happy, right? Right! But Pride started as a riot. What we know as modern Pride often appears to be a party and not a Human Rights movement. But it is still very much a fight for Human Rights.

My first pride as a baby Le***an was in 2003 (me Amanda, Oh Doughnuts owner). The sunglasses definitely give an accurate timestamp, eh fellow elder Q***rs😎?? Back when the parade went up to Portage, down Main and back up Broadway. It was a trek. And the festival happened at Memorial Park. It was quaint, and small (but still felt monumental to me). I remember feeling in awe of being surrounded by Q***r folx, how happy and welcoming everyone was, and how exhilarating it felt to be part of something so fabulous. Pride is that time of year when you ask yourself "where are all these Q***rs the rest of the year?" And that's just the thing. We're always here, we're everywhere, and we ain't going no where 😉.

And just like that June is knocking at our door step.

June is Pride month in Canada, the US, Europe, etc. June is the month of 2SLGBTQIA+ visibility. And for the month of June, we will do our best to share stories from our staff and owner, of what Pride means to them and why it still matters so much. Because not only is Oh Doughnuts owned and operated by a Q***r Le***an, but close to 50% of our staff identify somewhere under the beautiful umbrella that is the 2SLGBTQIA+ community 🏳️‍🌈. And of course, many of our fantastic customers are members of the community, and there are so many stories to share. If you'd like to share a brief story with us to share on our socials, drop us a dm! We can share anonymously, of course. ❤
