Remember we told you our elves had planted sunflower seeds?

They are very proud of themselves - they've never planted seeds before and they're good at it!

They are also having considerable success cheering on England in the World Cup! It's the first time they've done that too! We think they must be a bit magical.

❤️❤️❤️ DOS Unsung Heroes Post! ❤️❤️❤️

Awww, this is our wonderful Gail. You will no doubt have seen her taking roles on the Lyric Stage or helping our Front Of House team. But she has also been amazing as our Society Treasurer for many years and she made the decision to stand down from this hugely demanding role at our recent AGM.

Gail has been a superb number cruncher keeping all our finances in line and doing amazing stuff with financial reports and spreadsheets. She leaves us in a brilliant financial position and it's sad to see her go.

Of course, we couldn't let her go without a pressie or two!

Don't worry, though, she's not leaving us entirely. Gail will still be busy behind the scenes as she continues her other role as our Student Academy's Musical Director. The students always sound incredible when they sing and that's all due to Gail.

Thank you so much Gail, for all you've done for DOS and all you continue to do. We know we're lucky to have you xx

🥎🥎🥎 There's a Brit in the Wimbledon semis!! 🥎🥎🥎

Our elves already have World Cup fever, but they've now seen British Wild Card Arthur Fery has reached the Wimbledon semis! They are so excited they can't contain themselves!

So many reasons to cheer! They knew about Christmas cheer but this is all new!

It was our Annual General Meeting last night and a chance to celebrate our achievements over the last 12 months!

Calendar Girls played to critical acclaim and fabulous audience feedback last October! It was so good it was awarded NODA North East's production of the year! Our January pantomime, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, once again brought laughter and panto magic to the Lyric. Our Student Academy production, The Spongebob Musical Youth Edition, was incredible! We are still so proud of what our brilliant students achieved.

We presented awards to some outstanding Dossers! Massive congratulations to our Student of the Year, Ellé, and to joint winners of our Member of the Year, Samantha and Courtney.

We presented NODA long service awards to members who have been involved in amateur theatre for many years. Congratulations to Ellé (3 years), Deborah (30 years) and Gary (50 years - we promise that's not his actual award, it's coming later!)

As a society we are getting better and better! We would like to thank everyone who has been to see a DOS production this past year. Your ongoing support means everything to us.

We hope you'll be back to see us again in Elf The Musical in October, The Sleeping Beauty in January and Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr in March!

No pain no gain!

Our fabulous Elf dancers were getting a bit red in the knee at their last rehearsal!

They open the show with Santa in the North Pole and sing the brilliant catchy song 'Happy All The Time' dancing on their knees. Their poor knees now match Santa's outfit and Rudolph's nose!

But the song is hilarious, so why not grab a ticket and see how they do it?

Break a leg to our good friends and neighbours at Wales Community Theatre Players opening tonight at the Lyric with their fabulous Show Stoppers concert.

Special love to Dosser Will Marshall - that's him in the picture - who has solo numbers in the show.
