Closed this week.

Last week was a hot one and as you know I had to close due to the temperatures inside Hector, which was unplanned.

I had organised to take the week of the 6th July off and had things planned.
So it would be a week back, then off again, but that now doesn't make any sense at all. You'd all get back into your coffee routine then nothing again for a week.

So I've managed to rearrange and move the things I had planned to this coming week. ( It's definitely not a holiday or a break lol ) That means I'm now closed this week and back open the week of the 6th of July.

The heat continues so I won't be open Saturday

Wednesday it was 34 degrees inside Hector and 25 outside and that was with 3 ice fans and the door open. Saturday is due to hit 25 by 11am and 27 by 1pm and the inside temperature will be 36 or higher as it's a sunny day.
The roof becomes too hot to touch, the espresso machine is throwing out heat and there's no shade to park Hector under.

I won't be risking opening due to the temperatures inside.

This week's looking a little different due to the forecast MEGA high temperatures

It's always a watching and waiting game for me, but at this time on Monday night this is how the week is looking .

As always safety is my priority and with the equipment I have there are guides to what conditions they should be operating in.
The espresso machine is obviously the most dangerous and it's recommended that it's not operated in temperatures above 26.

I'm therefore not risking any incidents that could cause injury to you or me just to make a few pounds. I would hate for anything to happen.

I'm planning on closing at 1 pm before the temperature starts to get silly on Tuesday and Wednesday and taking Thursday and Friday off as it's hot from around 10 am.

If things change then I'll update here.
Enjoy the sun and stay safe and hydrated (that's a plug for a coffee, be it hot or cold )

It's business as usual this Saturday 8.30-3.00 Smith & Friends Estate Agents - Ingleby Barwick on what looks like a sunny Saturday.

Lots of new things on board this week and a new drink that seemed to be a hit today, although it won't be to everyone's liking.

Iced turmeric & butter toffee latte with cold foam. Now this drink looks golden and is perfect for the sunshine. It's creamy & buttery, with a spicy kick and gingery undertones. Make it dirty with a shot of espresso for those needing caffeine . This could be the marmite of iced drinks 🤔

Saturday's line up is a packed one.

This week's pup is Alfie.
Alfie's had a tough few weeks having had an operation on his back leg, so he's been living like a lord being pushed around and definitely enjoying his treats, but his rehab is almost over .

I can't believe how popular the new drinks have been, especially the banana bread and raspberry cheesecake !
Hot , iced or with matcha. I do believe we have a few customers who seem to be a little addicted 😉
