Tall windows, soft summer afternoon light, handmade peony pendants drifting overhead and a tiered stand arriving at your table laden with the prettiest things our kitchen makes.

This is afternoon tea reimagined the Petiole way - plant-first, generous and just a little bit romantic 💙

Settle in. The next few hours are yours, and the pleasure is ours 🌸🫖💙

We begin with the season’s savouries: smoked courgette and basil, hoisin beetroot on a shiso skewer, coronation-spiced celeriac scattered with marigold. After savoury comes sweet, with homemade raisin scones, clotted cream and fruit preserve.

To follow, a garden of tea cakes. “Forget me not” jammy lamingtons, lemon and poppy seed with preserved lavender, jasmine and cacao nib brownie. And with each course, we are delighted to recommend a perfectly paired tea from our selection by Tea Drop

This has been a long time in the making, with plenty of testing, tasting and thoughtful conversations along the way. Seeing the room filled with people sharing good company made it all feel very worthwhile.

There’s something about a slow Friday afternoon, isn’t there? Expect tiered stands of little things made with real care, sweet and savoury, the sort of spread that makes you stay a while.

Afternoon tea is officially launching today here at Café Petiole 💙

Nearly 18 months in the making and worth every minute of it. We’re also beyond proud to share that we’ve been included in the Chef’s Table curated list on Airbnb, putting us alongside some of the most exciting tables out there.
