Secret Sunday Lunch Club

Secret Sunday Lunch Club A Supper Club in a secret Notting Hill location dishing up proper, big, fat Sunday roast lunches. Go For those with a savoury tooth, cheese is on the menu too.

Tucked away at a secret Notting Hill address you’ll find the perfect solution to your Saturday night excess or pre-Monday blues in the form of The Sunday Lunch Club. It started off as a bunch of friends getting through their hangovers with the help of a roast and is now a new relaxed event for foodie fans. The atmosphere however remains as laid-back and home-cooked as it was all those years ago. Y

our afternoon kicks off with a killer Bloody Mary enjoyed on the large balcony overlooking West London’s rooftops getting to know your fellow Lunch Clubbers. You’ll then take your place around the big dining table to enjoy a good old-fashioned Sunday roast, just like your Mum used to make. We’ll carve at the table and you’ll be encouraged to help yourself to an array of veg and plenty of rich gravy – and if you fancy seconds don’t be shy; there will be ample to go around! But do remember to save room for a traditional pudding which will invariably involve ice-cream or custard, or both. Finally, you’ll finish off with tea or fresh coffee and a ‘wafer thin mint’. Expect to go home full, smiling, relaxed and maybe with a few more friends than when you arrived.

It doesn't look like much but this homemade cashew nut paté is delicious.

100g raw cashews, soaked overnight (keep the soaking liquid)
2 sprigs of tarragon leaves (or any other herb you fancy)
Squeeze of 1/4 lemon
Salt & Pepper
Pinch of turmeric (just because I had some)
Approx 35ml liquid (I used 50/50 olive oil and soaking liquid
Blitz all the ingredients together with half the liquid. (I used a stick blender). Gradually add more liquid until a nice creamy spreadable consistency. Season to taste with salt, pepper and lemon. Chill in an airtight container. It should keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Christmas supperclub tonight was great fun. Pulled out all the stops and had Roast Turkey (obvs), honey glazed parsnips, carrots slow cooked in cardamom and butter, red wine braised red cabbage with balsamic and orange, sautéd Brussels sprouts with chestnut butter, crispy roasties, pigs in blankets, bay bread sauce, cranberry & blueberry sauce, and lashings of gravy. And if that wasn't enough, to follow up... ginger & date bombe slathered in chocolate and pistachio praline and finished with Italian meringue. Oh and some mini mince pies.
