Pasties for residents from The Cornish Oven last week! 🥟✨

They kindly delivered 52 delicious pasties for our residents. Safe to say they went down a treat (by 5pm, only a handful were left!)

It was a great opportunity to show Louise, Beth and Bryhar what we do here at YMCA Cornwall and chat about how we can work together in the future.

Here’s what The team had to say:

"We really enjoyed meeting the team at YMCA Cornwall and talking about how we can support them. What an amazing charity! We were delighted to help by bringing over 50 pasties for the young people they support."

"Seeing the facilities, meeting some of the young residents and the passionate team has left quite an impression on us all and we are keen to stay connected to see how we can help. Also, the coffee was great! I will be visiting the public café far more regularly now that I know it is there. Thank you, YMCA Cornwall, for making us feel so welcome."

Running, walking, volunteering or cheering from the sidelines — every Rainbow Run hero deserves a proper pasty at the finish line.

On 20th June, our From the Cornish Heart charity will be supporting the Rainbow Run in Newquay by donating pasties for the amazing volunteers, as well as pasties for the charity to sell to participants once they’ve crossed the finish line.

Because after all that colour, energy and good cause goodness… a flaky Cornish pasty feels like the only sensible next step.

Percy Pasty Rescued by West Cornwall Search & Rescue…..well Almost! 😅

We are absolutely delighted to support West Cornwall Search & Rescue Team both financially and physically with some pasties!

If you are unaware of this incredible charity and the work that they do, then please pop to meet them this weekend at our Scorrier pasty shop.

Saturday 30th May - 10am to 2pm
Sunday 31st May - 10am to 2pm

Through an informal conversation over a pasty many months ago, we realised how little we knew about this Cornish charity. Some weeks later we asked how we could help support them and it was decided that buying kit for new volunteers would make a real difference and so we did.

We have donated £3,000 to West Cornwall Search and Rescue and hope to share with you an awareness of this local charity.

Andy Brelsford the charity’s chair said:

“We’re thrilled to be working alongside the fantastic team at Cornish Oven. Our sincere thanks go to them and their loyal customers for supporting our charity and helping us make a meaningful difference for communities across West Cornwall. “

Here are some pictures of a training session at Carn Brea some weeks ago where it was flaky steaks all round. ☺️

The team are a wonderful bunch and we had a fantastic time chatting to them and learning more about the rescues that they make and the support they also give to many other local services.

If you’re heading to The Great Estate at Scorrier from 29–31 May, make sure you’re fuelled for the fields, the music and whatever wonderfully weird surprises the weekend brings.

Pop into The Cornish Oven and grab a flaky steak pasty before you go — baked just down the road at our Scorrier bakery.

Because festival food is great… but pasty power hits different. 🎪🥟

“Thank You Penzance”

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to the Penzance community for all the messages and support after the break in weekend of the 9th and 10th.

Penzance is a great place and we refuse to let this incident change the way we think and behave. From the messages we have had, it is clear that you feel the same. ☺️

The public have been incredibly helpful with information and cctv footage and the police are ongoing with their investigation.

The team in the shop have been incredible. Their determination to keep serving our loyal customers is something we are deeply grateful for every day. We are blessed to have them.

Thank you everyone. We will keep you posted.
