🍽️ Yesterday’s wonderful Forfeit Feast has inspired this week’s 🥂

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for such a memorable evening. But have you ever wondered where the name Forfeit Feast comes from? 🤔

Centuries ago, Members who missed meetings or misbehaved were fined, or made to ‘forfeit’. Those fines helped pay for an annual dinner... meaning the offenders were, quite literally, paying for the feast! 🍽️

📜 The Forfeit Feast became an official fixture in the Company’s calendar in 1815 and has evolved ever since. Today, it remains one of the most prestigious dates in our calendar, traditionally welcoming the Lord Mayor of London as our principal guest alongside civic dignitaries, Freemen and Friends of The Company.

A tradition with a fascinating history, still going strong over 200 years later.

✈️ It was a pleasure to welcome members of RAF Leeming to Cutlers' Hall earlier this month.

Guests enjoyed a guided tour of Cutlers' Hall, learning about the Company's rich heritage before exploring our role today as the Voice of Manufacturing in Sheffield and South Yorkshire. The visit also included a trip to Sheffield Forgemasters, showcasing the vital contribution advanced manufacturing continues to make to UK defence.

Thank you to everyone from RAF Leeming for joining us. We value our strong relationship and look forward to continuing to strengthen the links between manufacturing and defence.

🧠 Another fantastic evening at Cutlers’ Hall! We were delighted to welcome guests for our Charity Quiz Night, hosted by the brilliant Mark "The Beast" Labbett for a night of challenging questions, friendly competition and plenty of laughs.

Teams battled it out across a range of rounds, testing their knowledge while raising valuable funds for The Cutlers’ Hall Preservation Trust, helping to protect and preserve our historic home for future generations.

A huge congratulations to the Junior Warden and Senior Warden’s table, who were the winners on the night! 🏆👏

🚓🚒🚑 Last night, The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire was proud to host this year's Emergency Services Awards at Cutlers' Hall, celebrating the outstanding individuals and teams from South Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, and for the first time,Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

Hosted by the Master Cutler, Professor Keith Jackson CEng CDir, the awards recognised exceptional dedication, professionalism and service across our emergency services, from frontline responders to the teams working tirelessly behind the scenes.

Congratulations to all of this year's winners, and thank you to everyone serving our communities with such dedication, teamwork and commitment 🏆

The swinging 60s are back. This is one of the most important events in our calendar this year, and one of the most enjoyable.

🕺Our 1960s Night isn’t just a fantastic evening out. It’s a chance for our community of Freemen and Friends to come together, have a brilliant time, and make a real difference. Every table filled means more funds going directly to Weston Park Cancer Charity’s See it, Treat it campaign, vital early diagnosis work that is changing lives across our region right now.

A corporate table of 10 is just £500 + VAT. That’s £50 a head for a professional Beatles tribute act, a full buffet, drinks, and dancing in one of Sheffield’s most iconic settings. A ready-made Friday night for your team and clients, and one they won’t forget in a hurry.

⭐We have two weeks and 10 tables left to fill. If you can be there, we’d love to see you. If you can’t, please do share this with people in your network. And if you’re looking for a way to bring your team together while doing something that genuinely matters, this is it.
