Why did you .... ? vs Why would you...?
Why did you >> 　已經發生的事...例如:問人點解咁做 ...
Why would you >> 未發生的事, 例如:某某打算做一件事... 你問他為甚麼有這樣的想法.....
1) Why did you arrive so late yesterday?
點解你昨天咁遲到呢?

2) Why would you resign right after a raise?
為甚麼你剛加了人工(都打算)辭職呢?

3) Why did you get married in Vegas?
點解你係拉斯維加斯結婚呢?

4) Why would you ever consider hiring him?
你點會考慮請佢架?

記住，英文只有一個 if / when字，不是if…then…X不對

我牙痛: I've a toothache
我肚痛: I've a stomachahe
我胃痛: I've stomach pain
我頭痛: I've a headache....
我好痛 = I am in a lot of pain.
劇痛 = sharp pain
隱隱作痛 = dull pain...
我好心痛 = I am broken hearted / it broke my heart.

例如:
New year's eve 除夕
New year's day 元旦
New year's party 新年Party........
祝賀人地新年快樂, 同其他祝賀字句一樣,都是用單數的

每日英語: 有... have 定係 There is
1) 中文講 "有兩個人" "有沒有",
("有"字前面沒有人名,我你他的) 都係 there is / there are.
2) 講某某有 = XX has ....
3) 有+(動詞)+到.... 這個是過去式 .... XX has done.
例如:.....
1) 有沒有東西吃? Is there anything to eat? (有字前無字)
2) 李先生有一輛汽車. Mr. Lee has a car. (李先生是人)
3) 史密斯先生今天有來過 Mr. Smith has visited today (有..過)

所以There 的意思雖然是 "那裡", 但是很多時候其實沒有意思.
要講 "係果度" 的話必須講 ### is there. It is there, They are there. Jon is there. (句子的主題是 你我他它/人名).

每日英語: 碟.... 究竟是 dish 還是 plate 呢?
簡單來說有食物的碟叫 dish, 碟本身叫 plate
dish 等於廣東話講"XX菜".... 前菜, 主菜, 等等....
但是洗碗叫 washing dishes. 因為 dishes 是包括..碗 bowls,碟 plates,羹 spoons, 刀叉 cutleries......
成語 "I have my plate full" 等於... 我已經夠忙的了(沒暇兼顧)......
Side dish 包括 salad, 小吃, 菜, 等等...
西方人覺得 飯,意粉 都算 side dish.........
杯子下面的又有另外一個名稱, 叫 saucer

意思 = 禮物
