A rare and exciting find—a Natural processed Kenyan coffee. Departing from the savory notes often found in traditional washed Kenyans, this espresso roast offers a vibrant and structured cup. It boasts a brilliant combination of tart cranberries and blood orange, finishing with an elegant milky oolong tea texture.

Located at the foot of Mount Elgon, the historic Endebess Estate manages its own milling. Utilizing meticulous natural processing for traditional SL varieties. The dark red volcanic soil left by ancient eruptions is exceptionally rich in organic matter and minerals like phosphorus and potassium. This provides abundant nutrients for the coffee trees, resulting in a more robust and structured flavor profile in the cup.

The current manager, Kaitet, places great emphasis on employee welfare and sustainability. This includes sponsoring tuition fees for local high school students, funding the renovation of over 15 staff quarters, and actively upgrading estate infrastructure to achieve relevant international certifications.

After three years of experimentation, Rumba is here to redefine texture. This yeast-assisted semi-anaerobic natural from Ethiopia’s Gatta Farm offers a velvety mouthfeel. It balances the deep sweetness of stewed strawberries with a sophisticated, lingering finish of brown sugar.

Located in the pristine Shantawene village of Sidama, Gatta Farm sits at an extreme altitude of over 1,900 meters, heavily shaded by century-old native trees and nourished by surrounding waterfalls. This remarkably cool microclimate slows the maturation of the coffee cherries, allowing complex sugars to fully develop within highly dense beans. Managed by the award-winning Daye Bensa team, the farm functions not just as an agricultural site, but as an advanced experimental hub with strict, data-driven quality control, ensuring exceptional standards from cultivation to harvest.

This specific lot showcases an innovative yeast-assisted semi-anaerobic natural process designed for unparalleled clarity. Fermented in a sealed, temperature-controlled environment for up to 100 hours, this exact methodology precisely amplifies ester compounds while completely avoiding the over-fermented notes occasionally found in traditional naturals. The resulting profile is an exceptionally clean, fruit-forward sensory experience, defined by vibrant notes of stewed strawberry, a refined, bright acidity, and an elegant brown sugar finish.

A beloved annual staple in DAK’s lineup. Sourced from the high-altitude Rumu Damo washing station, this Ethiopian Natural bursts with vibrant, layered fruit character. Expect a bright, juicy, and refreshingly playful cup anchored by a distinct strawberry jam.

Rumu Damo station is managed by Daye Bensa, a prominent producer known for winning multiple Cup of Excellence (COE) awards. The station processes cherries from local smallholders who cultivate coffee under the shade of indigenous trees.

Arbegona, located within the Sidama B zone, is one of the highest coffee-growing altitudes in Ethiopia. The extreme elevation (up to 2300 masl) results in cooler temperatures, leading to a significantly slower maturation process for the coffee cherries. This allows for a denser concentration of sugars and complex organic acids, manifesting as the intense “Strawberry Jam” sweetness DAK is known for.

This Natural lot undergoes meticulous selection and slow drying on raised beds. The precision in drying at such high altitudes ensures the volatile aromatic compounds are preserved without developing over-fermented or “boozy” defects.
