Dear Members of the Tourism Committee,
As most of you already know, EuroCham Tourism Committee Chairman Mr. Luu Meng formally took over yesterday his position of Co-Chair of the G-PSF Tourism Working Group (Working Group B) from departing Co-Chair, Mr. Ho Vandy.
In accordance with the usual procedure, Mr. Luu Meng has formally requested from the Royal Government (through Neak Oknha Kith Meng, Chairman of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce) the appointment of a structure that will help him to lead the works of the Private Sector Working Group on Tourism.
Below is the composition of the leading structure of the Private Sector Working Group on Tourism:
- Co-Chair: LUU Meng (Thalias/Almond) – Chairman of the EuroCham Tourism Committee, President of the Executive Committee of the Cambodia Hotel Association
- Deputy Chair: THOURN Sinan (B2B) – President of PATA, President of the Cambodia Tourism Federation
- Deputy Chair: OM Pharin (Charming Cambodia Tours) – Member of CATA
- Member: KOUCH Sokly (CMB) – President of the Cambodia Restaurant Association
- Member: DIN Somethearith (Frangipani) – Secretary General of the Cambodia Hotel Associations
- Member: Pierre-André ROMANO (EXO Travel) – Member of the EuroCham Tourism Committee
- Member: ANG Kim Eang (Great Angkor Tours) – President of CATA
From now on, EuroCham will ensure the Secretariat of the Private Sector Working Group B. However, the Working Group is by definition larger than EuroCham since it aims at gathering all private stakeholders involved in the Tourism and Hospitality sector. In this regard, EuroCham will rely on all professional associations and especially on the Cambodia Tourism Federation (whose interim Director, Ms Carrol Sahaidak-Beaver, is Secretary General of the EuroCham Tourism Committee) to promote the largest possible participation of all professionals to the Working Group.
We therefore encourage all members, interested parties, associations and chambers to join and prepare to raise issues and solutions that the Private Sector Co-Chair will discuss with the Minister of the Tourism in the future. The Private Sector Working Group B should meet every first Thursday of each month (proper notifications will be sent to all participants in due time).
Congratulations again to Mr. LUU Meng and his team. Let us work to support him in his endeavor to further improve the Tourism and Hospitality sector in Cambodia.
