maybe this mother’s day,

listen to her talk about random things again.

one slice cake, one warm coffee,

Many years ago, when we had just opened our doors, Xiaohongshu was itself in the midst of a rapid rise.

During that time, a guest visited us and later introduced herself as a food blogger, suggesting that her feature could be arranged in exchange for the meal. We responded, as respectfully as we could, that any collaboration would be considered and arranged in a more formal manner.

Not long after, a post portraying us as a disappointing experience was published.
It would be untrue to say it did not affect us.

What lingered more, perhaps, was seeing sincere voices—our actual guests—offering their own accounts in quiet support, only for those comments to be deliberately removed, one by one.

There was, in that moment, a certain sense of helplessness.

And yet, time has a way of placing such episodes in perspective. We chose not to pursue contention, nor to prolong explanation. Instead, we returned to the work itself—our coffee, our desserts, and the simple intention of serving each person who walks through our doors with care.

Did Xiaohongshu leave an impact? Undoubtedly.

But what has endured are the individuals who came, experienced, and decided for themselves—and, in many cases, chose to return.

In the end, passing noise seldom lingers. It is people who do.

And in that quiet continuity, we have remained.
