If na girl now, social media for don turn battleground.
Blue and black everywhere…
Hashtags for don scatter timeline…
Influencers for don wear activist coat overnight…
Everybody for don shout “We must get justice!”

Just imagine am well,
16-year-old innocent boy and 33-year-old woman.
Maka na obulu Nwanyi…
If e be say na 33-year-old man with 16-year-old girl,
Tell me truth....
Social media no go dey on fire by now?
People no go dey march, drag, protest, make noise?

But when it’s a boy, the noise goes silent.
His pain no loud because society dey pretend say boys no feel trauma.
Like his body no important…
Like his future no fragile…
Like his tears no deserve attention.

His life matters too.
His trauma matters too.
His dignity deserves the same anger, the same hashtags, the same fight we give every other injustice.

This one no be about gender,
This one no be “protect girls alone”…
This one na about humanity,
About a system wey choose who to defend and who to ignore.

A society wey ignore a boy today,
Go raise a broken man tomorrow.

We cannot choose who deserves justice based on stereotype.
Justice must be blind, anybody wey suffer must be heard.

Justice for the boy.
