Dear Younger Me,

When you feel that hot rush of anger rising, pause for a breath before you act. Anger is a signal—not a verdict. It tells you something matters to you, whether it’s a boundary being crossed, an injustice you see, or a fear you’re not ready to name. Instead of letting it explode, try to name the feeling: “I’m angry because…”. That simple step creates a tiny gap between the emotion and your response, giving you room to choose.

Remember these three things:

1. *It’s okay to feel angry.* You’re human, and suppressing the feeling only lets it fester. Acknowledge it, let it move through you, and then decide what to do next.

2. *Channel it wisely.* Use that energy to solve the problem, speak up for yourself, or stand up for someone else. A calm, focused mind can turn the heat of anger into constructive action.

3. *Don’t let it define you.* One angry moment doesn’t make you a angry person. Treat each flare as a lesson, not a label. After the storm passes, reflect: What triggered it? What could I do differently next time? How can I protect the part of me that feels threatened?

Finally, be kind to yourself. You’ll make mistakes, and that’s part of growing. When you stumble, get back up, learn, and keep moving forward. Your passion and intensity are gifts—use them to create, not to destroy.
