Fasting Your Sacrifice Animal Before Slaughter

Fasting simply means withholding food from your sacrifice animal for a short period before it is slaughtered.
Taking away their feed 12 to 24 hours before slaughter brings great benefits to the quality of your meat:

✅ Cleaner Dressing: It empties the animal's stomach and digestive tract, making the slaughtering and cleaning process much easier and cleaner.

✅ Safer Meat: It greatly reduces natural stomach bacteria, which prevents any accidental contamination or spoiling of the meat during dressing.

✅ Better Meat Quality: It improves the overall texture, colour, and freshness of the meat.

💧 Free & Unrestricted Access to Drinking Water is Critical?!!!

While food is withheld, the animal must always have free, ad libitum (unrestricted) access to clean drinking water right up until the time of slaughter.

ANNUAL SENSITISATION AHEAD OF E'ID-UL-ADHA (ILÉYÁ) !!!

As Salaam Alaykum Wa RahmatuLlah Wa Barokaatuhu...

"Countdown to Eid-ul-adha 1447A.H/2026C.E. The festival is just a month to go!!!

It's our annual tradition at Al-Falaah Meat Place, to provide the following pieces of information to serve as an enlightenment for our clients and the general public:

✅Goat
✅Sheep
✅Cow
✅Camel

Are all fit and proper for the Eid-ul-Adha (Ilèyà) Festival.

It all depends on your ability, which ALLAH (SWT) whom you serve, knows best.

Listen further please; Contrary to some popular myths and erroneous beliefs,

1. Only you can slaughter a cow and you can as well teem up with your friends (not more than seven of you) to slaughter and share one.

2. Only you can slaughter a camel and you and your friends (not more than seven of you) can also teem up to slaughter and share one.

3. It's not compulsory for you to slaughter a RAM, in addition to slaughtering a cow or camel. If you can afford that, please go ahead, you are simply appreciating ALLAH's favour on you. It will never go unrewarded.

4. Finally, if you are nursing the intention of following the bandwagon to buy an extraordinarily expensive worth of RAM this year, without the strength and plans to also buy another animal to support it, then I will advise that you use the money or add to that amount, to buy and slaughter a cow for the festival.

In that way you will end up getting a cow of not less than 2years old (which qualifies for Ilèyà) at a price close to that extraordinarily expensive ram.

You can confirm the age of the animal by its dentition (arrangement of its teeth). Accompany or consult an animal scientist, when you are going to buy the animal.

The meat you would get from such cow, is far more than what you would get from a RAM bought at the same price or a price close to it.

NB: The more the meat of your sacrifice animal, the merrier and better is your reward with ALLAH.

We at AFMP advise that; in the face of the prevailing economic condition of our country, it's important that we choose wisely and celebrate responsibility.

May Allah spare our lives to witness this year Eid-ul-Adha (Ilèyà) and many more of it on the planet Earth.
