Bagels and doughnuts
If you’ve not heard of bagels, or you see them and classify them as doughnuts, hang around a little longer let me spell it out for you. Bagels have a polish background and has gained popularity as anAmerican pastry. basically they look like doughnuts but they’re not doughnuts. The first time I saw bagels I was like, why are these particular doughnuts called bagels until I learnt and actually made it myself. Bagels consist of 3 main ingredients a, flour, yeast and salt while doughnuts contain sugar and fat content in addition to the 3 ingredients mentioned. Another interesting difference is the fact that bagels are actually cooked before fried and that results in giving it a soft interior and a crusty exterior while doughnuts are proofed and fried directly also they come out fluffy in and out. The major similarities bagels and doughnuts share is the fact they can take the same shape and they can also be glazed.
