Conservation in our tea gardens might happen behind the scenes, but it supports the very systems we all rely on, from healthy soil to clean water. We are proud to be replanting the rare endemic Sri Lankan Kuudalu flowering plant (Impatiens cordata) at the Dilmah Queensberry Estate in Sri Lanka that was once thought to be extinct and hasn’t been seen in the wild for 100 years.

A moment worth steeping in again.

Throwback to when Dilhan and Amrit Fernando, second and third generation of the Dilmah family, came together for something that had never been done before. An extraordinary, thoughtfully crafted tea-inspired Omakase.

Highlighting local ingredients including Ceylon Cinnamon, each aroma, each carefully considered pairing, each glass poured sparked a deeper passion for the art of tea.

What does kindness look like in a family business? It looks like children watching, learning, understanding, and appreciating why empowering others matters.

As our Chairman/CEO, Dilhan C. Fernando, walked through the People’s Market with his younger two children Amaya and Devin, this isn’t just a family moment. It’s a reminder that values are passed down the same way tea is crafted: with care and intention.

The People’s Market by the MJF Foundation was founded on one simple belief - business must serve people. We provide micro-entrepreneurs with the platform to showcase their talents and support their livelihoods.

Every artisan here represents courage, resilience, and hope. This event teaches the next generation something greater: that a cup of tea can carry purpose, and that success means lifting others along the way.

On this International Day of Forests, we’re taking a moment to look back on a journey that began with a simple idea: to give land back to nature.

What was once an abandoned tea estate is now a growing biodiversity corridor carefully restored to reconnect two forest patches and support native plants and wildlife, right next to one of Sri Lanka’s largest rainforests and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Guided by science and deep respect for the land, we planted native species suited to their natural conditions and monitored their growth closely, both on the ground and through geo-tagging. Today, this careful approach has resulted in a 70% survival rate - a milestone we are proud of.

Our Founder would be pleased to see how far this idea has come.

The Endane Biodiversity Corridor has come full circle: from vision to living landscape and now stands as a model that can be replicated across other degraded tea lands. With the potential to support wildlife, strengthen community livelihoods, and improve ecosystem services for the tea industry, this is proof that restoration can work for nature and for people.

What’s in Your Cup? What you may not know is that your cup of Dilmah isn’t just a morning energiser or a comforting hug in a mug.

Our Founder dreamed of sharing a cup of kindness together with the taste, integrity and quality of Dilmah. We commit a minimum of 15% pre-tax profits towards the work of our MJF Charitable Foundation that supports over 600,000 lives, and Dilmah Conservation that protects and preserves nature as part of our responsibility as an ethical tea brand.

Thank you for joining us on our journey as a family of tea growers that serves humanity.

From the misty highlands to sun drenched lowlands, the land and environment shape the flavour, aroma and character of every leaf. Sri Lanka’s unique climate, soil and altitude make it one of the only places in the world, if not the only place, where the tea thrives, producing such variety and complexity.

How the tea is grown, harvested and crafted matters too. At Dilmah, we handpick only two leaves and a bud, ensuring premium quality in every cup. Whether it’s light and aromatic high grown teas, balanced mid-grown teas, or full bodied low-grown teas, every sip reflects the fingerprint of nature.
