Not all tea is created equal 🏔️
Ceylon tea from Sri Lanka's high-grown regions (above 1,200m) develops a bright, brisk flavour you won't find anywhere else — thanks to cool mists, slow leaf growth, and generations of expertise.
Next time you sip, you're tasting geography.

School of Tea, for us, has always been about sharing what tea really means beyond the cup, the stories, the people, the journey. And seeing Amrit in these early moments, you can almost feel how naturally he stepped into that world.

Amrit’s younger School of Tea days feel like just yesterday... and now, we stand on the threshold of the 95th School of Tea. What a journey it has been!

Why bother conserving reefs when the global outlook for them looks so discouraging?

It’s a fair question. But we believe in changing the small parts of the world we can reach. Our new coral mapping project - a collaboration with the University of Colombo and Uva Wellessa - is our way of moving from concern to action.

By creating a detailed map of Sri Lanka’s underwater landscape, we are identifying the resilient zones that can survive the heat and taking notice of the areas that need our immediate help. We are not just watching the ocean change; we are learning how to protect it, one coordinate at a time.

This World Environment Day, as the world talks about climate action, we are looking to ancestral roots for a solution.

In the dry, sun-baked soil of Kalkudah, Batticaloa, water is everything. We recently joined 23 local cashew farmers at our East Centre - alongside Dilhan - to share a simple, brilliant piece of indigenous technology: the porous clay pitcher.

Buried deep beside the roots of a young cashew tree, these self-watering pots act as a slow, steady heartbeat of moisture. The clay breathes water directly into the arid earth only when the roots ask for it, wasting nothing. It’s quiet, climate-resilient, and deeply connected to the land.

Sometimes, wellness begins with the simplest choice: to slow down, breathe deeply, and take a quiet moment for yourself.
