Low hanging fruit!
Very happy to have the opportunity , via Zoom, to speak for ten minutes to the whole of Nelson City Council. Plus press and Council staff. And it's on YouTube too.
In support of my submission to the ten year Long Term Plan.
A valuable challenge to try and present RBE as a viable alternative to the status quo. NCC, who are all familiar with Money Free Party here are well aware of our burgeoning problems, but, like everyone else, stuck in the current paradigm.
I tried to compare the success of the methods and philosophies used in aerospace/airline engineering and operations, ie, science based, with those still used in socioeconomic systems, ie political, tradition, culture based. We are on a giant Spaceship after all. Let's run it like one.
I also attempted to introduce the concept of 'if what we're doing inside the box isn't working, let's keep looking further outside of the box until we find something (Money Free obviously :) ) that does work'. Rather than meekly repeating the same mistakes, secretly knowing they won't work.
One doesn't get any feedback from these events, especially via Zoom, but one long-serving Councillor did ask what
to do now. So I suggested research RBE.
Doing the same thing in person with Tasman District Council on Friday :).
