I want to say a huge Thankyou for the support to the store over my tenure & for all of your blessings & encouragement over the sale of Ngakawau general Store

All I can say is it has been a wild ride!

I'm so grateful for the love & the kindness, the patience & the compassion poured out over the past year by so many.

I will miss being the face of the dairy.
It has given me the opportunity to get to know so many of you & to make many genuine friends.

I will be coming for that cuppa & catchup I have been promising!

The shop looks fantastic & it is an absolute win win for everyone that the dairy AND Post Office lives on.
It will be 100 years old in 2029
It is in great hands with Jade & Kim & I love the new look at JK's Corner Store

Wishing everyone a safe & wonderful Christmas & signing off from Ngakawau general Store.

I will have one more post after Christmas to advise of Ricki's memorial day on 01/01

It's a Christmas Miracle folks!

I have been working my tail feathers off quietly in the background to secure a buyer for the Ngakawau Store.

Although I am unable to continue, it is important to me that our community keeps the resources that we have & I would be very disappointed if I was the one to make us lose our dairy.

So, on that note,
I am absolutely delighted to let you all know that Ngakawau Store has been sold & Jade & Kim are the new propritors.

They will take over this coming Friday 20/12 & they will be open all holidays 8am-8pm
Closed Christmas Day

I wish them only success & a bigger, brighter, better future for 2025

By now, most everyone in our wider community will have heard of the despicable & senseless arson of 2 vehicles outside the Ngakawau Store late, on Monday night 2/12.
The owners, Jono & Charley, who live in the dairy house with their two sons, left America to escape the politics & the violence of the USA to make a better life for their family.
They chose NZ to bring their skills & abilities to & they chose our community to be the ones to benefit from them.
They are the kind of people that would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it more than them.
They have only added value to our community & they are such an asset by who they are & what they bring.
I am so saddened that someone has done this to them

I am not asking anyone for information; that is the job for the police but I am asking that if you care about having good, kind, decent people being a part of your community, then please show them the support they deserve & let them know that they are welcome here.

Both of their work vehicles are disabled but they are working on a plan.

I came home to this anonymous gift that made me cry.
Thankyou for your kindness.

In case everyone else doesn't know, I cry every day for my darling Ricki & I am in deep deep pain & in between, I still continue to serve my community EVERY day.

I'm feeling pretty dark about my STOLEN Taonga & the shop will be closed on Sunday.

This large very unique and distinctive wood sculpture was stolen from my property in Hector.
I noticed it missing in early March I have been waiting on photos of it to post.
It was given to me by a friend & after the loss of my son in January, it brought me great comfort.
I am very committed to getting it back.
REWARD for information leading to the recovery of this stolen piece.
Please note, I think my piece was sold & in no way do I believe the buyer is responsible for the theft.
I understand that it could be a shock to see my post & realise that my stolen art is in your garden.
I will happily pay for it's return.
