“Dulduli” (Cicada)
They seem to appear in large numbers and become very loud just before or during the start of the rainy season because:

* Their life cycle is tied to moisture and temperature. After spending months or years underground as nymphs, they emerge when environmental conditions are favorable.
* Rain softens the soil, making it easier for them to come out and transform into adults.
* The loud sound is the males calling for mates. When many emerge at the same time, the chorus can become extremely loud.
* The rainy season provides abundant food and suitable conditions for reproduction and survival.

So the “dulduli” are often considered a natural sign that the rainy season is approaching. Their loud buzzing is essentially a massive mating call from thousands of males trying to attract females.
