Mang Ern’s History traces its roots back to the early 1990s when it was founded by Ernesto Boado along Bulusan Street in La Loma, Quezon City. Specializing in Pares, a popular Filipino beef stew dish typically paired with garlic rice and a clear soup, Mang Ern’s quickly gained a following for its authentic flavors.
However, like many businesses, Mang Ern’s faced challenges and eventually closed its doors. It wasn’t until 2020, amidst the global pandemic, that the Boado siblings decided to revive their father’s legacy. Ernesto's children, inspired by their upbringing in an environment where Pares originated, sought to reintroduce
Mang Ern’s to a new generation of food enthusiasts.
Led by the Boado siblings and supported by their mother, Margarita Boado, Mang Ern’s reopened in Bayanan, Bacoor, Cavite. Armed with their father’s original recipes and fueled by a passion for preserving his culinary heritage, the family embarked on a journey of trial and error to perfect the dishes that had once captivated diners in Quezon City.
Initially offering pick-up and delivery services due to pandemic restrictions,
Mang Ern’s soon expanded to accommodate dine-in and take-out customers as conditions improved. Building on their foundation of Pares and Mami, they diversified their menu to include Sizzling and Silog meals, broadening their appeal while staying true to their roots.
Through perseverance and dedication, Mang Ern’s has earned a reputation as one of the premier destinations for "Pares Retiro Style" cuisine in Cavite. Their commitment to quality and authenticity has not only solidified their place in the local food scene but also honors the vision of their father, who originally brought their family’s culinary tradition to life.
Looking ahead, the Boado siblings envision continuing their father’s legacy, ensuring that Mang Ern’s remains synonymous with exceptional Pares and a testament to the enduring power of family and tradition in Filipino cuisine.
