“Cheating reps… are they bad? Or sayop lang imong paggamit?”
Cheating reps are when you use a bit of momentum, body swing, or assistance to finish a rep when your muscles are already close to failure.
Here’s the truth:
Cheating is NOT for beginners.
Cheating is NOT an excuse for bad form.
But if used correctly, it can help you push past failure, increase intensity, and stimulate more muscle growth.
Think of it this way: you’re not replacing good form, you’re extending the set after your strict reps fail.
So yes — it’s okay to use cheating reps, pero dapat sakto ang timing. Use them at the end of your set, dili sa una.
5 TIPS FOR USING CHEATING REPS
1. Earn Your Cheat
Always start with strict form.
2. Control the Negative
Don’t just drop the weight. Hinaya ang paubos, diri ang real gains.
3. Keep It Minimal
A slight swing is enough.
4. Use It on the Right Exercises
Best for curls, lateral raises, and machines. Ayaw buhata sa squats, deadlifts, or heavy compounds.
5. Cheat WITH Intent, Not Ego
Every rep should still target the muscle.
