AS HOLLYWOOD OASIS LOUNGE
Remember Gazali's? Here's a photo of the doormat which once was outside the Mediterranean restaurant on 25th street next to the Varsity theater.

Gazali's left the Drake neighborhood soon after the university announced that it hoped to redevelop most of the block into apartments. (A first part, a 120 unit apartment development, is slated to start construction later this summer.) Once part of a thriving retail district, Gazali's was the last business to leave

These days, you'll find MJ Gazali out in Adel where he is the proprietor of Hollywood Oasis Lounge. In his own words:

'I'm MJ Gazali, a 17-year veteran of Hollywood and a Mediterranean culinary artist, now turning the page on a new chapter away from the city lights. I'm thrilled to unveil a place where great drinks and exquisite Mediterranean flavors meet.
