Well what do you know, it's going to rain Saturday morning. Shocking right?! ⛈️😲

The forecast changed quickly, but we're glad for a break from the heat and humidity.

The kitchen is rocking today. We have been baking since the wee hours and we have a couple more hours to go.

This week at the Saylorsburg Farmers Market we’ve got two favorites for you:

🍓 Our Strawberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies — we don’t make these often, so if you love them, grab a pack while they last!

And our loaf of the week: Cinnamon Raisin — a classic, cozy flavor that you all keep asking for.

Quick heads-up for our regulars: The booth will be there until around 2pm, but the kids and us have to head out about 11:30 for a family thing. Michelle's sisters will be holding down the fort, so if you haven’t met them yet, come say hi! They’ll take great care of you and help you satisfy your Five Eight fix.

The heat is over and we all survived 🔥

Hopefully everyone who lost power from those tyrannical storms has their power restored by now.

We wanted to put out a teaser for Saturdays Saylorsburg Farmers Market.

We will be bringing our Strawberry White Chocolate Cookies this week! Made with delicious freeze dried strawberries and melt in your mouth White Chocolate chips.

Also our Pretzel Loaf which has been a huge hit, will be there. It's is a soft chewy bread with a buttery, slightly sweet from honey, flavor.

And we will be bringing our Cinnamon Raisin loaf by request. This loaf, along with our Classic, is vegan and both generally sell out quickly.

If you want to guarantee to be able to get something specific, just message us and we can setup a pre-order for you.

Thank you Nazareth Farmers Market and Moravian Historical Society for the America 250, July 4th event today.

And of course thank you all Five Eight friends, family, and customers.

We sold everything we brought today!

All coffee, all loaves, all cookies, all English muffins, and all our sweet treats.

It was busy from even before we got our booth fully setup. We never even had a chance to take picture and make a post about us being at the event.

The long hours in the kitchen as so worth it when get to share a day with everyone at an awesome event like today.

🥵🍞 It's hot.

Like... why did we decide to bake bread during a heat wave? Hot. For real, for real!

But market prep waits for no one, so the oven has been going all day. It's blazing outside, blazing inside, and we're pretty sure our butter just gave up the ghost. 😱

Here's where we're at for tomorrow though:

☕️ Coffee is roasted and bagged.
✅ Cookies are baked.
🥖 Bread is in the oven.
🥯 English Muffins are almost ready to cook.
🫐 Blueberry Focaccia and 🍥 Cinnamon Rolls are on the schedule first thing tomorrow morning.

And we're excited because tomorrow marks the first market appearance of the season for our Sourdough Strawberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies! 🍓🍪

They're made with freeze-dried strawberries and white chocolate chips, and they're one of our favorite summer cookies.

We'll also have all of your Five Eight favorites—fresh sourdough, English muffins, cookies, focaccia, cinnamon rolls, and our organic freshly roasted coffee.

🌧️🍞 Bake Day Is Underway! ☕🥨

First, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who placed a preorder through Hotplate for the Saylorsburg Farmers Market! It really helps us know how much to bake and roast before market day. We appreciate every single order! Second, we need some sourdough emoticons! Who is the national emoticon people? How do we get in contact with them?

Now... about tomorrow's weather...

The forecast has improved a little, but they're still calling for "locally heavy rainfall possible."

Translation:
🌦️ It could flood...
🌤️ Or it might not rain a single drop.

Ah yes... the joys of outdoor farmers markets.

Rain or shine, Five Eight Coffee Company will be there, bringing fresh sourdough, cookies, coffee, and enough optimism to convince ourselves the radar is wrong. Because we really do enjoy seeing you all and talking with you all.

🚨🌧 Good Morning Five Eight Friends 🌧🚨

This Saturday the forecast looks unfriendly for Farmer's Markets. Someone scheduled rain but forgot we already had the market scheduled in Saylorsburg! Shame on them!

Since the forecast looks a little glum, we wanted to make sure everyone can get their Five Eight Coffee and Sourdough goodies. We still plan to be there, however we might not make as much. At the same time we also don't want anyone to miss out on their favs.

So we are opening pre-orders for Saturday's (6-27-26), Saylorsburg Farmers Market at Saylors Inn.

Since we have to prep and ferment and labor away for days on end to make this Sourdough happy, we must have the final pre-orders in by tomorrow morning. Sourdough rules, we don't make them, we just obey them.
