While Deck's closed for business over two years ago, last week it was sold to a new owner. To say that it is the end of an era is an understatement.

Established in 1908 and run by the same family for its entire existence; that is something that we rarely see anymore. Whether I was popping in to have a key copied or searching for an item that only Deck's carried, it was always a treat. From the wonderfully helpful to the grumpy, the entire staff made me smile.

My absolute favorite trip to Deck's was when we got to go on "the hunt". I'Il never forget the first time I was taken through the myriad of rooms, traversing hidden stairways and into buildings that I never knew existed. Several years ago, I happened to capture one of these missions and I share it, as I know many of you have similar memories and will likely appreciate.

Whatever is to come of this space, I hope the new owners respect our town and the history that the Deck family worked so hard to build.

Off-Street Parking: If you have a driveway or garage, please use it. Keeping cars off the street (and the alleys!) allows plows to clear the road from curb to curb.

Equipment: If you must drive, ensure your vehicle is equipped with snow tires or chains.

🧹 SIDEWALK CARE
The 24-Hour Rule: Residents and business owners are required to clear a path of at least 30 inches wide on all abutting sidewalks within 24 hours after the snow stops falling.

Don't Shovel Into the Street: It is dangerous to shovel, plow, or blow snow back into the roadway. Please pile it on your lawn or the curb strip instead.
Fire Hydrants: If you have a hydrant near your property, please clear a perimeter around it so our Fire Department can access it in an emergency.

🔇 POWER EQUIPMENT HOURS
To keep things quiet for resting neighbors, the use of snowblowers and other domestic power equipment is prohibited between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Hello friends and neighbors, Please be on the lookout for this sweet girl missing from Loch Alsh Ave (Upper Dublin section of Ambler), between Beth Pike and Douglas St. She is unfamiliar with being outside and is suspected to be lost 😢 Her name is Emily, she is a petite little thing and does not have a collar. 🎄🚒🎅 Join us on Christmas Eve, December 24th, starting at 5:00 PM, as we es**rt Santa through our local community with lights, sirens, and plenty of holiday cheer!

Our goal is to visit every street in our coverage area, but please keep in mind, we may be dispatched to emergency calls during the event. Our members are volunteers and also hope to spend time with their families on Christmas Eve. Because of this, there is a possibility that some streets may be missed but please know we truly do our best to see as many of you as possible.

In case you haven’t heard, the Ambler Farmers' Market is gearing up for a grand reopening (of sorts) in May. The market has been super sad the past several years, but those days are gone 🙌🏻 Thanks to a local couple for stepping up and breathing life back into the market, we will have the kind of market our town deserves. Be sure to follow the market on socials as they announce the lineup they have in store for us.

FYI, Butler Ave is closed between Morris Rd and Maple Ave with ZERO detour signs, so you don’t know until you get there. Mt Pleasant and Morris are a disaster, as a result. Hopefully it will be open by 5pm, but for now, avoid at all costs.
