An Austin couple is offering a reward for information that will lead to a conviction in the burglary of their home.

The family organizing their fundraiser has made the decision to reopen the GoFundMe benefitting the owners of Faye's Concessions. Many people have asked and were surprised when we paused accepting donations. We recognize that breaking news is more sensationalized and gets more attention with fundraising, but we needed time to process in the aftermath.

We have a better idea now of what will be covered by insurance, and unfortunately, most of what was stolen will not be recouped through insurance.

The recent update posted on GoFundMe also explains more about the contractor who took advantage of them after the burglary. To add another cautionary tale to this saga, make sure you do your research about who you hire, even when you think you can trust a referral.

The family of Faye's Concessions is announcing a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the burglary at the owner's home on Sunday, August 14th. This was the last day of the Mower County Fair. Anonymous tips should be reported directly to the Crime Stoppers MN Hotline at 800-222-8477. Criminals stole a very large sum of cash, valuables, and important documents, and unfortunately, most of what was stolen will not be replaced by insurance. Faye's Concessions was robbed tonight. Not the stand, but the owners’ home was ransacked and robbed this evening (Sunday). The criminals destroyed their home and stole important documents, valuables, jewelry, cash and a large safe. If you visited at the fair, you saw how the family has been working so hard. But this business is the lifelong pride and joy of Don and Faye, the 84 and 76 year old owner/operators, who are well known and loved in the community, and who work hard from sun up to sun down to serve the community with love since they started their business in 1979.

Please, please, if you live in the area on the map, check your cameras and please report ANY suspicious activity, particularly between the hours of 7-11 pm on Sunday evening or any suspicious activity that could be related in Austin and surrounding areas that you see in the days ahead. Thank GOD nobody was home, and nobody was hurt but they may have interrupted these criminals when they arrived home to this devastation after a grueling week. So incredibly scary. All they wanted to do after this busy week was crawl into bed.

Please, please help! Stay vigilant, and please report any leads to the Austin Police Department. They are involved.
