Allow me to (re)introduce myself… again ✨

Since my last introduction post back in December, so much has changed, grown, shifted, and expanded. We’ve gained new followers, connected with new customers, added locations, and continued showing up in new spaces throughout Central Texas, so I figured it was time for an update 💗

Hi, I’m Tonya — East Texas native, mom of two beautiful girls (Bailey & Madelyn), and the heart behind a few local sweet brands created to bring joy, celebration, and a little extra sweetness to everyday moments, special events, and our community.

If you’ve seen me out at events, chances are you’ve also seen my crew — my girls by my side and my husband Steven (my #1 fan, taste tester, biggest supporter, business partner, and best friend) ❤️

Our mobile dessert trailer offering handcrafted cupcakes, cookies, cheesecake jars, cake jars, brownies, hand-dipped ice cream, and specialty treats for events, schools, pop-ups, celebrations, and public stops.

Potation will always be a special part of our story. What started inside the Bell County Justice Center grew into a mobile beverage trailer serving coffee, teas, lemonades, and more.

While we’ve recently closed the Potation trailer chapter and are no longer accepting bookings at this time, we are incredibly grateful for everyone who supported that journey 💛

We interrupt your scrolling for an important announcement... 📣😂

Our sister company, Ave Confections Cotton Candy, just landed their FIRST cart booking in Waco, and we are ridiculously excited for them!! 🎉🍭

We'd like to officially congratulate them on this huge milestone... even though we're pretty sure we'll be seeing them at the family dinner table later. 😆

Seriously though, we're incredibly proud of everything they're building, and this opportunity is such a special one. If you're in Waco this weekend, be sure to stop by the cart, grab some gourmet cotton candy, and show some love!

We’re excited to be celebrating with the City of Temple for their First Friday Downtown Block Party honoring America’s 250 years 🇺🇸🎉

Update as of June 26:
I just want to start by saying THANK YOU to everyone for the overwhelming love, support, messages, and encouragement over the past few days after making the post below. It truly means more than you know 🩷

I’m happy to share that my meeting today went very well, and I'm happy with the outcome. I do want to encourage anyone who still has questions or concerns to reach out, there is still time, and our local health department is available and willing to help guide everyone through this new process.

I also want to clear up any confusion regarding Cupcake Avenue, we will be moving forward with the new permitting process and will continue operating as usual.

As for Ave Confections Cotton Candy, that was the main focus of the meeting, and I’m happy to say we received the clarity and guidance we needed and will also be continuing operations as normal.

This new law and process has definitely brought challenges and required many of us to make quick decisions, so I encourage you all to continue supporting your local small businesses whenever you can.

My heart is still with all of my fellow food truck and vendor friends as everyone navigates what this means for their businesses. I’m here for you, and I’m rooting for each and every one of you as you make the best decisions moving forward.

We love and appreciate you all so much and are beyond grateful that we can continue serving you and your families! 💕

I don’t usually come on here to vent or share personal feelings, but I wanted to take a moment to be real with you all.

As many of you may have heard, all Bell County mobile food vendor permits are now set to expire at the end of this month. We were just informed during meetings held on June 10th & 11th following the State of Texas passing HB 2844. This new law expands opportunities for vendors to operate statewide without needing permits in every city, which sounds great in theory, especially for those who travel often or will start doing so.

However, for many of us local vendors, this came as a huge and unexpected challenge.

A lot of us recently paid to renew our permits with Bell County under the impression they would be valid through their full term. Now, with this sudden change and short notice, we’re left trying to make big decisions very quickly.

For our family, this directly impacts our three businesses:
• Cupcake Avenue
• Ave Confections Cotton Candy
• Potation Beverage Co

Each unit falls under a Tier 2 permit, costing $1,018 per unit. With the recent changes and current activity levels, we’ve made the difficult decision not to renew Potation Beverage Co after June 30th. It hasn’t been as active since transitioning out of the Bell County Justice Center and is now mainly used for occasional private bookings.

At this time, I’m still considering moving forward with renewing permits for Cupcake Avenue and Ave Confections, but I do have an in-person meeting this Friday that will help guide that decision.

I share this not for sympathy, but for awareness and support of small businesses in our community. Many of us, whether full-time or part-time—are feeling the weight of this.
