In Northern Greece, summer mornings have a way of turning into afternoons.

One more coffee. Another bite of bougatsa. A few shared plates for the table. No rush to leave.

That's the spirit behind brunch at Bar Vlaha. Seasonal ingredients, generous hospitality, and a table meant for lingering.

From dough to golden crust.

Our Horiatiko Psomi is baked in-house every day and served warm with sheep’s milk butter and sea salt—the perfect way to begin a meal.

From the mountains of Northern Greece to the heart of Brookline, this journey has always been about sharing something bigger than a meal.

We're incredibly honored to be named Best Greek in Boston Magazine's Best of Boston awards.

From day one, our mission has been to celebrate the story of the Vlach people through the food, hospitality, and traditions of Central and Northern Greece. To see that story embraced by our community and recognized by Boston Magazine is an honor we don't take lightly.

Thank you to our extraordinary team for bringing philoxenia to life every day, and to every guest who has walked through our doors, shared a meal, and become part of our story.

Salt in the air. Sun on the table.

The summers of Central & Northern Greece are built around long meals, shared plates, and ingredients at their peak. Tomatoes warmed by the sun. Seafood over charcoal. Olive oil poured generously.

The kind of afternoon that slowly becomes evening. The kind of meal that makes you stay for one more glass.

The best stories unfold over time

After helping shape Kaia as our Sous Chef, we're proud to announce Chef Junyoung Ma as our Chef de Cuisine.

Chef Jun's path has taken him from Korea to some of Boston's most celebrated kitchens, but what defines him most is the care he brings to every service, every plate, and every person around him. His cooking draws from Korean heritage, refined technique, and the season's best ingredients, always guided by curiosity and generosity.

As Kaia continues to evolve, we're grateful to have Chef Jun leading the kitchen into what's next.

Congratulations, Chef.

Just a few stops down the Green Line.

Friends around the table. A few shared plates. Coffee that turns into cocktails. That's how brunch should be.

Come stay awhile.

Nobody cooks alone here.

A collection of creatives. Kindness. Conversation. Bread is better when it's shared.

Desserts arrive once the table has settled into the evening.

Stories grow louder, spoons pass from hand to hand, and bites of galatopita, rizogalo, gianniotiko, and kormos slowly disappear between conversations.

Chef Eva’s desserts honor the sweets many village homes across Greece have made for generations, with a few seasonal touches from our kitchen.

This is the kind of table meant to keep you a little longer.
