✨
I’ve had something on my heart lately.
Owning a small business has shown me the very best in people… but unfortunately, it’s also shown me the worst.
Kindness is free. Encouragement is free. Supporting one another should be the easiest part of this journey.
I genuinely don’t understand why some small businesses choose to tear down or exclude other small businesses. We all know how hard this journey is. Long hours, sleepless nights, financial stress, and wondering if people will even walk through the door tomorrow. Why make it harder for each other?
The truth is, the success of another small business doesn’t take anything away from mine.
If we’re being honest, our biggest competition isn’t the shop down the street. It’s the convenience of Amazon Prime, the big-box stores, and corporations with advertising budgets most of us could never dream of. Every dollar spent locally helps a family pay a mortgage, feed their kids, care for their animals, or keep a lifelong dream alive.
Imagine what our community could look like if we chose collaboration over competition, encouragement over gossip, and kindness over pettiness. There is more than enough room for all of us to succeed.
I truly believe our community is strongest when we choose to support local, encourage one another, and remember that there’s enough room for all of us to succeed.
I’ll continue cheering for other small businesses, sharing their posts, shopping their stores, and celebrating their successes. Someone else’s win doesn’t take away from mine.
Let’s build each other up instead of tearing each other down. Our community deserves that, and so do the people working their hearts out behind every small business door. ❤️
