Storage. Even in the shower…

One of our firmly held beliefs - the way that your space functions is as important as the way that it looks. That means that the inside of your cabinets matter just as much as the outside of your cabinets do.

The bathroom that was here originally was a big, dark, open area - meant to be a Primary Bath, but not being utilized in that way. It was definitely in need of some updating and attention, so when the homeowners decided that they wanted to move into the adjacent room and start using this space as intended, we upgraded the look from moody sad, to moody good. This was for a client I had worked with before so they gave me guidelines and had lots of input on the decisions, but they also trusted me to push the design and make some bold choices. It’s now a little modern, and a little traditional, a little formal, a little fun. And even though we took some of the square footage of the existing bathroom to make more closet space for them, the storage solutions we incorporated make the space fully functional.

A Powder Room upgrade that feels just right for the upcoming transition into fall. 🍂 When designing this space it was important to me that we were honoring the history of the house itself and that we made the room feel like a natural transition from the other spaces in the home. To accomplish that, we installed a timeless tile on the floor so that the transition from the hardwoods into the bathroom felt more intentional and kept the style of the new fixtures classic. In the spirit of, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” we keep the existing cabinetry as it was, but updated the hardware to match the rest of the space. We all know that wallpaper is the perfect way to add interest and whimsy, and I think the one we chose does both. Swipe to see the transformation from what the space looked like before —>

Storage is great, but sneaky storage? That’s even better. Touch latch hardware is a great tool for hiding doors that you want to look clean and decorative but are actually operable! One more way to make the most of your space. Swipe to see the difference with the door closed!

Good morning! I hope that your coffee is hot and fresh and that the morning light comes through your window just right. Halfway through the week - we’ve got this.

Even though this kitchen had a lot of space to work with, the awkward work triangle and disconnected parts weren’t making the most of it. This family with young kids needed a kitchen they could use efficiently and enjoy together as their kids grow. We adjusted the way the space works , including the flow to other areas and created a cohesive look with the new hood as the focal point. In the second slide you can see a peek of the Laundry Room in the back. Swipe through to see the before!

A happy holiday weekend to you all. I hope it’s full of rest and time with your favorite people. I’ll also continue to hope and fight for the most important principles that our country (claims) to be founded on and should be considered non-negotiable: Equal rights for everyone. Freedom to express your opinions and practice your beliefs without fear of the government. To be a place that welcomes diversity and people in need. To be a country that invests in our children and most vulnerable. And I know that we can be a country that works towards peace, education, science backed research for healthier lives and a healthier planet so that we’re building a safer world for each other and the children we are leaving this place to. Otherwise, what has this all been for?
