Does it seem like the best summer events are too expensive? Look no further than what’s happening in your neighborhood.

🎻This week, we escaped the heat and discovered a hidden gem in a free networking + live classical music concert event hosted by Republic Bank, Lincolnwood Chamber of Commerce, and sponsored by Loeber Motors.

A favorite moment? When the Lincolnwood Chamber Orchestra played a piece featuring a typewriter used as percussion (video clip included!). Pretty cool! It’s a reminder that great summer experiences can be found close to home. Often, they are less crowded, full of local charm, and perfect for a summer evening.

✨ Just One stop? Never in downtown Chicago.

What started as a morning at the Windy City LIVE taping quickly turned into an all-day Chicago adventure! Seriously, who can resist??

Our itinerary included:
🍌 Banana pudding for breakfast at Magnolia Bakery (because...why not?)
🎬 A live TV audience experience at ABC 7 Chicago
🎨 A visit to the colorful hidden gem known as Couch Alley
🚶‍♀️ A scenic walk along the Chicago River and Wacker Drive
🍽️ Lunch on the rooftop patio at LondonHouse Chicago with incredible skyline views

One of the things we love most about Chicago is that every outing can become an adventure. Some of the best memories happen when you simply wander, explore, and discover what's around the next corner.

🎬 Such a fun Chicago TV experience today! A friend and I had the chance to be part of the live studio audience for Windy City LIVE ✨at ABC 7 Chicago, and it was a blast. I always wanted to go, but couldn't get in from the waitlist.

Watching a TV show come together behind the scenes is like watching 2 shows happen at the same time. There's the actual TV show and then the one in the studio to see how everything comes together between segments.

Ryan Chiaverini & Val Warner are fun to watch with a segment on Route 66 - From Chicago to Los Angeles, and special guests included Lisa Raye, DJ Terry Hunter, and Tommy Winkler, who did a segment on world foods for the World Cup. I think our audience definitely nailed the applause cues. 😉👏

If you're looking for a unique (and FREE!) thing to do in Chicago, I'd definitely recommend adding this to the list. It's a fun outing with a friend, and when is the next time you can spot yourself on TV?! 📺
