Colorado Springs friends 👀
Have you heard of the metal artist Starr Kempf? I love his whimsical and steampunk-esque art!
Starr Kempf's kinetic sculptures are large, intricate steel wind sculptures located in Colorado Springs, notably at the Ent Center for the Arts at UCCS and on private property in the Cheyenne Canyon area, viewable from the street. Key pieces like Metronome, Sunrise Serenade, and Space Needle are on long-term loan at the Ent Center, while others remain at the artist's former home *, visible from the road. The sculptures are known for their graceful movement with the wind and are a significant part of the local art landscape.
You will also notice several Starr Kempf kinetic sculptures plus pictures of Starr in action and a placque in his honor on display at the Creekwalk area of Colorado Springs off Nevada.
* You can view more of his sculptures at his home from the road at Evans Avenue and Pine Grove Avenue near the Starsmore Visitors Center in Cheyenne Canon. ⭐
