There is something sacred about watching a friend pour her heart into a place she loves.

Today, we celebrate Missy Bogard—Cotter resident, fly-fishing guide, artist, and a cherished friend of our community. Many know Missy from her days on the river, sharing her passion for fly fishing with anglers from near and far, or from welcoming visitors through the doors of Diamond State Fly Co. But when she steps away from the water, her creativity finds another current to follow.

As she brings her artwork to life here at Catch & Release, we are reminded that the same spirit that guides her on the river flows through her brush. Her work reflects a deep love for this place, for the outdoors, and for the people who call the Trout Capital of the USA home.

We are profoundly grateful for the gifts Missy shares with our town—not only her talent, but her generosity, kindness, and commitment to inspiring others. As a female artist and guide, she leads by example, showing young creatives and outdoor enthusiasts alike that there is room to follow both passion and purpose.

Announcing Ruebens are back just in time for summer patio sits at Catch & Release Cotter🥪☀️🍻

The Reuben, which we will lovingly refer to as The Bruce, is a local favorite.

A Reuben is a classic American hot sandwich made of corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing, grilled between slices of rye bread. It’s celebrated for the delicious contrast between salty meat, tangy cabbage, and creamy, melty cheese.

True to its name, Catch & Release celebrates more than just a favorite fly fishing practice — it’s a nod to a way of life. Whether you’re casting a line into the White River or catching up with friends after a long week, it’s all about savoring the moment… then letting it drift.

Expect local beer Ozark Beer Company, Norfork Brewing Company, Flyway Brewing and wine, great food, and that signature Cotter hospitality — all served up on our open-air patio with some of the best views around.

You didn’t just grow food — you cultivated connection, nourishment, and joy. Season after season, your hands and heart gave us more than fresh produce; you gave us a reminder of what it means to live closely with the earth and with one another. Your dedication to sustainable farming, to feeding people well, and to caring for the land has left a lasting mark on our community and on all of us lucky enough to know you.
