Statins are among the most commonly prescribed drugs worldwide, used to lower LDL cholesterol and reduce cardiovascular risk.
But they are not as safe as we’ve been led to believe.
Statins reduce cholesterol production in the liver, but they also inhibit Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) - a vital compound for energy production in muscles and the heart. This inhibition may contribute to:
❗ Muscle pain (myopathy)
❗ Fatigue & exercise intolerance
❗ Cognitive decline & memory loss
❗ Increased risk of type 2 diabetes
❗ Liver enzyme abnormalities
❗ Hormonal disruptions (cholesterol is the building block of many hormones)
Various studies have linked statin use with reversible cognitive side effects, particularly in older adults.
The FDA even issued a warning in 2012 about statin-related memory loss and confusion.
The whole demonisation of cholesterol was done deliberately so that big pharm companies could sell billions in statins that are working AGAINST your health, not for it.
Perhaps this helps to explain why we’re seeing such a huge rise in cognitive conditions like Alzheimers and Dementia?
