Old Farts Bench Racers Club We are past and present Racers, Fans, Promoters, Owners just all about loving Dirt track racing. I want to personally Thank You all for liking our page.

This will give us a avenue to communicate on upcoming events and make it easier for our luncheon reunions to grow. Many have said they did not know about our reunions until it was to late and wanted to be included in the future................................................................ History of how we got started and where we are headed ... Our little racing club started when Ed Morris ( ou

r resident historian ) had a idea of bringing a few of us Dirt Track enthusiast that had been communicating through Face Book for over a year together for lunch. He called asking me if I could help organize his idea and find us a place to gather for lunch. He had invited Marc Madison, Don Nixon, Frank Hobbs along with myself and himself and the 5 of us meet at " The Bulls Pen " off of Hwy 80 and East Fork Road for lunch. Well we ate and bench raced for a couple of hours then going outside to continue for better part of hour more. We agreed that this was something we wanted to make a tradition out of doing and agreed to grow this into a event for all those in the dirt track racing community past and present. We was originally going to do this 3 to 4 times a year but have come to realize that it is not feasible during the racing season. So we have narrowed it down to just before the season and right after the season.We moved our 2nd luncheon reunion and all future luncheon reunions to Circle Grill ... which is more accessible and has been in it's location for many years. A lot of the old racers would either meet there or next door at the old " Stagecoach Restaurant " after the races was over at the " Old Devil's Bowl " . Plus everyone knows where Young Chevrolet is so Circle Grill being right behind it would be easy to find. Circle Grill also welcomes our group for they have the back room to host us. ....... Now on to where we are headed..... We want to make this the premier event in North Texas ... why ... because we are trying to help showcase and preserve our Dirt Track Racing History here in our area. A lot of the Older Farts have so much history and stories to tell and share along with photos, print and newspaper articles. Don Cook has been on a mission for years to do just this and has attended a couple of our reunions and has photo documented these items that you the racers have brought to share with the group. At this time I want to thank our administrative secretary Diane Sanders for all her work and dedication in our efforts. At this time She and I ( Santa Bob McMasters ) are your administrators for the group. We have set up a E-Mail account for the group. PLEASE HELP SPREAD OUR GROUP AND OUR LUNCHEON REUNION DATES AND BE SURE AND ADD ANYONE YOU KNOW WITH THE LOVE OF DIRT TRACK RACING IN OUR AREA AND BEYOND.

The honoring of " WILD " Bill Edmonds for his years of accomplishment and championships as a driver at North Texas Area Circle Dirt Tracks by the " Old Farts Bench Racers Club " and Racers Reunion. Sunday 3/19/17

The luncheon was also was to celebrate Benny Morris of " Dirt Track Photography " return visit to North Texas.
Great turnout but even greater stories of the soldiers of the mud from past and present drivers, car owners, pitmen, promotors and sponsors.
Presentation of the honor plaque was done by the long time track announcer and now the voice of the 2017 TWMA ( Texas Winged Modified Association ) traveling series official announcer Mike Lane and Co-Founder of the OFBRC Santa Bob McMasters and member and ultimate race fan Paul David Sanders Jr.. Special thanks go out to Bill's family .. wife Pat .. and their sons Billy Edmonds and Jay for helping set up this surprise honoring. Also a big thank you to our administrative secretary Diane Sanders for her help in making these events a success. Most of all a million thanks to all those who take a few hours out of their busy schedule to come make these luncheons so much fun and help keep the history and stories alive here in the North Texas Racing Community. With all that said these events could not be without the great folks at Circle Grill Restaurant.
Thank you to the management and staff and as always the food was delicious.

Heat Races at the Re-Opening night of the Rose Bowl Speedway in Tyler, TX.( Winona ) Saturday Oct. 8th. This track has been there 44 years and set dormant for the last 4 or maybe 5 years. Kevin Fowler and familyincluding his son Casey bought the track a couple of months ago bringing in 1000's of yards of East Texas Clay and the old girl looks great .. fast and ready to dance !

The last couple of years has been very tough years for our North Texas Racing Family with the unexpected loss of so many in our Racing Community. From Reunion to Reunion and Year to Year many of us in our Racing Family is growing older in age. If you have ever been to one of our many reunions you can all agree that for many of us ... we go away with a great sense of satisfaction along with happiness in our hearts and cannot wait to attend the next reunion luncheon. The stories shared, the camaraderie, the feeling of closeness and the friendship that exists between old friends and the special relationships that exists between soldiers of the mud that have experienced the thrill of being involved in the history as well as present times in the North Texas Circle Dirt Track Racing Community. If you have not attended one of our Reunion Luncheons then you have truly missed out on something SPECIAL.
