Modern day Halloween has its roots in ancient Irish Celtic Samhain, the night that was believed to be the closest the earthly and spirit world would intersect. People carved turnips, lit bonfires, set out food on their doorsteps, and wore masks to ward off evil spirits. The first bar to pour Guinness Draught in the U.S.! I got in! Located on the second floor of the old Famous-Barr Dept Store inside the Railway Exchange Building in STL, MO. So cool to be able to put a pint of Guinness on that bar for the first time in maybe 50 years. Special shoutout to my friend for the film assist!
